imageThe world is vast, with interesting cultures, landscapes, and experiences waiting to be explored. It beckons us with a curious and adventurous spirit and inspires a lifelong yearning for the art of travel.  Business leaders keep traveling as a hobby, which is more than just the act of moving from one place to another. It is a passport to expand the horizons in ways never thought possible. These global destinations foster a deeper appreciation for the rich tapestry of the world's diversity and make us more open and empathetic people.  Here are the favorite global destinations of Indian leaders.

London- a Global Culture Capital

Yezdi Nagporewalla, Chief Executive Officer, KPMG in India, prefers to escape the hustle and bustle by visiting London. It has a rich history and has long been a royal residence. The London Eye is arguably the most famous Ferris wheel in the world and was the centerpiece of the London Millennium Celebration in 2000. The Ferris wheel's glass capsule rises 443 feet above the River Thames and offers some of the most beautiful views in London for about 30 minutes. Piccadilly Circus and Trafalgar Square commemorate Sir Horatio Nelson's victory over the French. On the other hand, Piccadilly Circus is where downtown London intersects with Piccadilly, Regent, Haymarket, and Shaftesbury Avenue. Here, a winged sculpture of Eros, poised gently on one leg, looks down on this bustling traffic.

Scotland

Atul Khosla, Vice-Chancellor & Founder, of Shoolini University, says that Scotland is one of his preferred travel destinations. It has some of the most striking landscapes. From rolling hills and jagged mountainsides to white sandy beaches, Scotland truly has a smattering of everything in its ever-changing landscape. With some of the best scenic drives around, there's no reason the trip shouldn't be in Scotland.

Scotland has many green areas. Nearly 70 percent of the population lives in the lowlands, including Edinburgh and Glasgow, while much of the highlands and islands are sparsely populated. Scotland and the United Kingdom as a whole are committed to preserving its wilderness and natural beauty. The country has introduced the Green Tourism Business Scheme (GTBS), which rewards businesses that adhere to a set of green principles that help protect and enhance the local environment, such as conserving natural resources, reducing waste, and supporting the local economy.

Why Go To Europe

If you like the outdoors and long vacations, Europe is your destination, and so it is for Vishal Dhupar, Managing Director—South Asia, NVIDIA. Vishal, the son of an army officer, has traveled extensively in India and Europe.

Paris:

The City of Light attracts millions of tourists each year with its unforgettable atmosphere. Of course, the city also deserves credit for its delicious cuisine and vast art collection. The tranquil Seine is flanked by majestic museums, centuries-old churches, Rococo and neoclassical-design buildings, and the city is further enhanced by cascading trees and glowing streetlights. The cobblestone streets and graceful bridges of the Seine are traversed by impossibly chic Parisians who are probably on their way to the market, cafes, or movie theaters.

Venice:

A city located in northeast Italy and the capital of the Veneto region. It is known for its beautiful settings, artwork, and predominantly Venetian Gothic architecture. Equal measures of romance and culture make this city beautiful. This place is like nothing you imagined; even if you have seen it in movies and photos, it is dreamlike! Water shimmers everywhere in this breathtaking city, with canals where the streets should be.

Unrelentingly beautifully chaotic, Venice is a land of art, history, magic, tradition, and diversity. The palaces and churches reflect the glorious past of a place that was once a wealthy trading center. Getting lost in the alleys of Venice is a part of the experience and the most magical way of uncovering this city.

Belgium

Many people enjoy the taste of chocolates and desserts from Belgium, even if their name is only attached to the dish. But to experience the real Belgium, one must not forget other places and experiences, not only chocolate. Anil Ghelani, CFA, Senior Vice President, DSP Mutual Fund, says Belgium is the most favorite travel destination abroad. Art lovers can spend all day at the Royal Museum of Fine Arts of Belgium in Brussels, the capital of Belgium and the seat of NATO and the European Union. Brussels flea markets, especially the daily open-air antique market at Place du Jeu de Barre, and the affordable vintage shopping in the Sablon district are also worth a visit. For gourmets, Brussels is the place to experience all of Belgium's culinary landmarks.

Interlaken in Switzerland

Manikandan Bala, Senior Vice President, Elekta prefers to go Interlaken in Switzerland.  Located in the heart of Switzerland's Bernese Oberland, Interlaken is a popular vacation destination not only for Swiss citizens but also for many foreign tourists. It is situated on an alluvial plain between the clear waters of Lake Thun and Lake Brienz. Interlaken is surrounded by three major mountain ranges: the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau. As the gateway to the beautiful Jungfrau region, a variety of hotels and mountain tours are available.

The mountains surrounding the city offer tourists many attractions and activities all year round. The mountain railroads of the Jungfrau region have provided many visitors to Interlaken with memorable experiences, and since the completion of the Bernese Oberland Railway and other railroads in 1890, Interlaken's popularity has continued to rise. Today, visitors to Interlaken have access to more than 45 mountain railroads, cable cars, chair lifts, and ski lifts.
