Tesla Has Posted These Job Openings in India

High import taxes have long discouraged Tesla from entering India. However, the Indian market has become more appealing due to recent changes in government policy, such as lowering the basic customs tariff on luxury EVs costing more than $40,000 from 110 to 70 percent.
“I had a very good meeting with Elon Musk in Washington DC. We discussed various issues, including those he is passionate about, such as space, mobility, technology, and innovation. I talked about India's efforts towards reform and furthering Minimum Government, Maximum Governance,” says Prime Minister Narendra Modi after his two-day visit to the US. Now, Tesla has begun hiring in India just after Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the US, raising the possibility that the company may join the Indian EV market. The Future of Tesla in India
Compared to China, where 11 million electric vehicles were sold last year, India's EV market is still relatively modest. India, on the other hand, sold about 100,000 EVs during that time. Despite this, Tesla believes that India has room to develop since the government encourages the use of cleaner energy and offers incentives for the adoption of EVs.
Although the company has not yet formally confirmed when it will begin selling cars, Tesla's hiring activity indicates that it is establishing operations in India. Depending on demand and government backing, analysts predict that Tesla may start by importing vehicles before choosing to manufacture locally.
Additionally, the company's action coincides with wider trade negotiations. US President Donald Trump says that India and the US were in discussions to improve US military sales, including possible agreements for F-35 fighter jets, and to lessen trade imbalances after the Modi-Musk summit.
