Higher education institutions in India have a renewed enthusiasm for traveling alongside academia and a reinforced commitment to creating more entrepreneurs in diverse industry segments. Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) is the epitome of this sentiment. For instance, VIT recently entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Footwear Design and Development Institute (FDDI), an institution under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT). The partnership aims to start a new chapter in
technological advancement and expertise in raising the bar of excellence in the domain of footwear design and development at par with international standards. The objective of the collaboration includes the exchange of faculty and students, joint research initiatives, and product development projects across FDDI’s multiple campuses, including Rohtak, Noida, Jodhpur, Chennai, Hyderabad, Patna, and Kolkata.

Indeed, throughout the year, VIT has manifested its keen interest in creating manufacturing leaders. The Society of Manufacturing Engineers at Vellore Institute of Technology (SME VIT) organized 55 events this year, spanning various activities, including alumni talks, Campaign Against Substance Abuse (CASA) events, workshops, outreach initiatives, and industrial visits. These events, which also host renowned speakers and industry experts, provide a unique opportunity for VITians to exhibit their technical prowess and engage in competitions, workshops, and seminars. While VIT looks forward to creating greatness for the future, this special issue of CEO Insights is all about the greatness they have already created. We dedicate this yearly special issue to the reputed alumni of VIT. Do let us know your thoughts.
