The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Lucknow is setting a great example toward this common, highly ambitious goal in India. IIM Lucknow has launched a full-fledged PG program in sustainable management, which
aims to develop management professionals with a holistic perspective on economic, social, and environmental issues. The new course will teach students about the best practices of pioneers in sustainability from world renowned universities.
The institute is positive that the course will enable future leaders to understand the ever-evolving and interactive nature of sustainability challenges, leading them to develop integrated and holistic solutions. Commenting about the program and the career opportunities it presents, professor Ashish Aggarwal, Chairman, PGP-SM, IIM Lucknow, said, “Top consulting firms like McKinsey, Accenture, E&Y, KPMG, and PWC, along with other major companies, hire our students with an average salary of Rs.30 lakhs per annum, and we have a 100 percent placement record.”
The new course will cover case study methodology, international immersion program in the second year from universities such as Copenhagen Business School (Denmark), Linnaeus University (Sweden), and Maastricht University (Netherlands), not to mention the visits to organizations like IKEA, VOLVO, Electrolux & Xylem. According to the reports, the program also has integrated several projects with industry.
