Helping Students Explore More Possibilities

Who are we kidding; the traditional higher education systems in India have their own limitations for equipping students for such an elite level of international competition. There is a dire need to produce global citizens, entrepreneurs with broader visions and candidates with skills beyond expectations. A bit harsh? Well, let's look at some simple statistics. Around fifteen lakh engineering students graduate in India from engineering colleges across the country. Only 2.5 lakh of them get relevant jobs in technical domains.
While it is obvious that the whole teaching approach, pedagogy, and even students' learning models inevitably need to be revamped harmonically, we also feed the possibility of students getting jobs abroad. The National Institute of Technology Calicut (NIT-C) definitely comprehends this opportunity, as they have recently launched a Japanese language certificate course at A level for students and staff of the National Institute of Technology Calicut (NIT-C) with the support of Japan Foundation (JF). It's a great omen that premium institutes in the country are exploring more possibilities for their students.

Established as the Regional Engineering College Calicut (CREC)in 1961, the NITC community has over 25000 alumni who occupy prominent positions in top industries research facilities, and other institutions around the world. Over the decades, the institute has emerged as the top destination for engineering aspirants, especially in Kerala. This special issue is dedicated to the prestigious alumni of NITC.
