While women constitute half of India’s population, it’s unfortunate that they have not benefited proportionately from its economic prosperity. Not even close. But this disparity has never stopped them, and it should not. Constant endeavors are required to provide women with equal opportunities while also equipping them with enough knowledge and skills to make the most out of those opportunities. We are talking about a radical transformation with multiple aspects and layers. The starting point is our homes and educational institutions have a huge part to play in this revolution as well.
On an advanced level, business schools in the country also have a larger responsibility. It’s good to see the top-tier institutions in the country, like IIM Bangalore, are focusing on this need and catering to it. In collaboration with Goldman Sachs, IIM Bangalore's incubation arm NSRCEL recently announced the launch of the ‘Goldman Sachs 10,000 Women Finance for Growth’ initiative in the country. The program will offer intensive finance education, tailored mentorship, and exclusive networking opportunities. It comprises three modules a basic finance module, the successful completion of which will make them eligible for a second advanced module. The final module will include bespoke mentoring from IIMB faculty members, finance industry experts, bankers, venture capitalists, and angel investors. The learnings and advice in this module will be tailored to the specific needs of each woman entrepreneur.

According to the NIRF rankings 2023, IIM Bangalore is ranked second among India’s B-schools. The institute has also achieved the 52nd position in the FT Global MBA Ranking 2023, considering the one-year full-time Executive Post Graduate Programme in Management (EPGP). We present our yearly special IIM Bangalore alumni special. Do let us know your thoughts.
