Can you give a brief overview of your experience in the marketing industry?
Dr Shiv: Having been in this industry for over 25 years, I have realized that go-to-market challenges are immense. Statistics show that over 90 percent of new products or startups fail to make an impact. This is because we are often stuck between the dynamic interplay of rapid technological advance-ments and ever-evolving consumer expectations. On an average a marketer uses 13+ tools, and data gets scattered across different tools. So when companies run their go-to-market programs, they do not get a 360-degree view of the customer engagements – that leads to wrong decisions and thereby failures.
Girish: I have around 23 years of experience in marketing and product management roles. There are several issues because of which organizations struggle to market their products. One of the crucial aspects is the marketing team size at a company.
Interestingly, most marketing teams are small, regardless of company size.
For instance, a company with significant revenue may only have a few people in its marketing team, while the sales team could be much larger. This small team size makes automation crucial, as they need to manage many tasks with limited resources. Lastly, lead generation remains a significant challenge for companies of all sizes. A small team tackling this big problem dreams of an automated lead engine that continuously generates leads, akin to an efficient production environment.
Given this backdrop, we aim to tackle these go-to market challenges with our extensive experience. We know what works and what doesn't, and that's what we bring to the table. This motivates us as we work towards creating a new category: Go-to-Market Tech. While currently operating within the marketing environment, our goal is to pioneer and dominate this new category.
Can you shed light on marketing automation and how you are using it to help customers?
The rise of automation in marketing has transformed the way businesses operate. Previously, marketers had to manually manage multiple campaigns and track every customer interaction. This was not only time consuming but also limited the growth potential.
According to various studies, the marketing auto-mation market is expected to reach around $9.5 billion by 2027. Digital-first strategies and AI are also pushing the adoption of marketing automation. With increasing digital spending, technologies like AI enhance marketing productivity.
A rich set of features makes Camp marketing auto-mation a preferred choice for sales people, marketers, channel managers, and business persons. The true multi-channel experience, end-to-end functionalities of planning, automation, and analytics make it a must have.
What are the latest strategic plans you have adopted?
To expand operations and engage new markets, we are focusing on forming alliances, particularly in two key areas: GTM consulting and research services, and partnerships with CRM and sales automation providers that complement our solutions. We are actively seeking partners in various geographies to support this effort.
Additionally, from a product perspective, we are developing a completely new version of our product. This new version reimagines our marketing and sales automation approach, positioning it as a reimagined GTM automation tool, which we believe will help us enter new territories. Moreover, we have established a strong presence in the Indian and Middle Eastern markets, particularly among midsized organizations. We have also initiated a pilot entry into the US market with a local partner.
What’s your leadership approach and advice to emerging leaders?
Firstly, we believe in empowering teams to be independent. We support small, autonomous teams capable of making their own decisions, enabling them to execute tasks effectively. Secondly, we employ an iterative approach, working in small groups over shorter timeframes. We encourage our employees to focus on creativity and new ideas, fostering a culture of brainstorming and deep dives into various concepts.
