Asit holds a degree in bachelor of science from Utkal University and an MBA degree in International Marketing Corporate Communication, and creative advertising from Maastricht School of Management. Asit started working in the healthcare sector in 2016 and working in the direction of innovating better ways of enhancing medical facilities with technology.
In an exclusive interview with CEO INSIGHTS, Asit talks more about his professional journey and how he is leading change in the industry.
Give us a brief about your professional background and experiences. What inspired you to venture into the diagnostics healthcare space?
I started my professional journey as a sales manager at Exide Industries from the year 2006 to 2011, after that my journey as an entrepreneur started by co-founding Chevon Foods a chain of processed and packed mutton shops. It was a first of its kind in India and added an innovative approach to improve and deliver consistent product quality. In the year 2016, I got into the healthcare sector as a part of the founding team of the organization named Healthians. For the past 16 years, I have been providing leadership, strategic marketing, and
planning in the preventive diagnosis healthcare space.
The diagnostic industry is one of the fastest evolving sectors in India, it has emerged as a crucial component of the healthcare sector owing to the increased dependency of medical professionals on the diagnostic segment to validate, accurately diagnose the sickness, and provide the required treatment. The pandemic has changed the perception of people regarding health, they started prioritizing it with utmost value and for me, it was the time to use my expertise to look into the loop holes in Indian diagnostic prospects. It took me and my partner six months to conceptualize and innovate the idea behind DiagRight in 2020.
Define DiagRight as an organization and what services does it cater to its customers?How does your expertise in marketing help you in making a difference in this dynamic market?
DiagRight is the first-of-a-kind healthtech startup with the vision of standardizing and channelizing the last-mile delivery in the diagnostic process and aims to reduce the scope of pre analytical errors. Our USP is based on three pillars namely PAAS (Paramedic as a service),TAAS (Technology as a Service), and EAAS(Enterprise as a service). The perfect blend of technology with a smart goal plan is creating a win-win situation for both customers and paramedics in getting an accurate test and helping the Paramedic community to be financially stable.
My expertise and past experiences in the healthcare sector have helped me identify the void between supply and demand in the current scenario and leverage next generation technologies to respond to the growing market needs in the fastest way possible.
How do you apply your strategies and techniques in tackling complex situations in particular? What are the opportunities you foresee in your domain?

The clinical laboratory has a major opportunity to contribute to resolving lifestyle related diseases as the laboratory itself is one of the highest qualities and most reliable systems in the healthcare system. In terms of future trends, digital tools can help minimize human error as health IT becomes a more critical part of healthcare organizations. Digital advancements and solutions can help minimize errors and provide more accuracy when it comes to testing, one of the core tenets of diagnostics.
What advice do you want to give to the upcoming leaders of the diagnostic healthcare domain?
We should understand this what ever decision we make is going to impact the lives of the patients so this is just not business, if you do not have certain medical experience, it is advisable not to start a business in this domain. This market is crowded and competitive, for all those who are looking forward to starting a business in this domain it would be advisable to start in tier-II and tier-III cities where there is a lack of good healthcare facilities.
