In an exclusive meeting with CEO Insights Magazine, Sandeep Sirur,Managing Director, Miven Mayfran talks about his journey and the unique traits of his company.
What inspired you to start your professional journey in the automotive segment?What is it that drives you today?
My profession career incidentally started in the IT Industry where I worked with one of India's leading IT organizations, for a year and a half. This experience provided me with extremely valuable knowledge and insight into how large, professionally managed organizations function, and it has been a major influence on my outlook on business in general. Following that, I relocated to the
Netherlands to work with our joint venture partner, Mayfran International. From a technology standpoint, this tenure was yet another phenomenal learning experience, as I was able to get a first-hand look at the latest technological innovations in this domain and envisage a roadmap for introducing them in India.
My goal after moving to India was to make the company more process and technology-driven while maintaining a consistent focus on the customer. We have significantly expanded our offerings over the years, curated by a highly experienced, competent and professional team. Our products are now used in a variety of industries across the country, and we are driven by our reputation of being a trail blazer and a pioneer in our domain.My goal is to take the organization to the next level by bringing in scale and innovation.
How would you describe your academic experience at MIT? What were the unique experiences?
Studying at MIT was a transformational experience for me. Through academics, co-curricular and extracurricular activities, MIT provides a wide array of platforms for one to learn and develop one's leadership potential. The academic environment at MIT nurtures independent thinking which has been beneficial in my entrepreneurial journey. In addition, rather than being purely instructional theory based, classroom sessions were more practically oriented. The emphasis on being strong in our fundamentals, regardless of the topic; engineering, economics, or management, has always been defining feature of MIT's teaching methodology.
The opportunity to interact with students from various backgrounds, cultures, and interests was one of the most rewarding aspects of my time at MIT. This broadened my horizons, provided me with a new world view, and laid a solid foundation for my professional journey.

How would you define Miven Mayfran Conveyors as an organization and its position in the market?
Miven Mayfran has been a pioneer in the field of a chip, coolant, and scrap management in India since its inception in 1986. We are still a market leader in our field and the preferred partner for the automotive auto component, and heavy engineering industries after 35 years and we work hard to maintain that position. We have been at the forefront of introducing cutting-edge technology products in the Indian market as a part of Mayfran International, a global leader in this field.
Miven Mayfran is probably the only company in its industry with a panIndia presence and a comprehensive suite of products that can cater to the needs ofthe manufacturing sector. Many of our customers have been with us for more than three decades, which amply demonstrates the priority we place on relationships and longterm partner ships. In your professional journey so far, which are the milestones that bestowed you with utmost satisfaction both as an individual and as an Industry Leader?
So far, the journey has indeed been extremely exhilarating; challenging at times but mostly one of deep satisfaction. We are proud to have successfully completed some of the country's largest projects in our field. We have also executed some extremely demanding projects that had to be completed within stringent time constraints. One of the most significant achievements was the completion of a large scrap handling project in Thailand for a global auto company. We also delivered a very high-end filtration system to a South Indian automaker. This was Asia's first of its kind. The foray into material handling and automation is possibly one of my most prized accomplishments.

He has been a Director of Miven Mayfran Conveyors since 2006 and is currently holding the position of Managing Director.
