In this regard, S. M. Narayanan, Founder of Tacitine Consulting, is an Alumni leader from the National Institute of Technology Trichy in India. who has been spearheading Tacitine's growth bandwagon since its inception in 2010. It is a promising, indigenous organization that provides safe and 100 percent uptime connection solutions for scattered organizations such as Retail, Logistics, Manufacturing, and BFSI segments. Tacitine has more than 7500 installations PAN India only for Distributed organization solutions with many marquee customers. The company has also solidified its presence across various countries including the US, Middle East, and APAC. Due to the company’s competency in the field, Tacitine has also been recognized by APAC Insider Business Award 2022 as 'Best Internet Security Space Startup Company India'.

In an exclusive interview with CEO Insights Magazine, SM Narayanan walks us through his professional journey along with the unique traits of the company.

Could you give a brief account of your professional background and experiences and also what inspired you to establish test and consulting?
I obtained my master's degree in VLSI Design. It was Regional Engineering College(REC) at that time, not NIT. My career began with Tejas Networks in Bangalore. And when I was at REC Trichy, the professors ingrained in us the importance of constantly giving an idea a try, keep learning, and striving towards becoming an entrepreneur. As a result, I've always had a clear idea of starting a firm, with the goal
of giving it a year and then going back to our previous job if things don't work out. Everything was meticulously arranged. We are now in our 13th year and are constantly expanding our skills.

What is the motivation that fuels your daily routines?
I have always been a passionate individual with 15 years of unrivalled experience in the world of business. We are in the cyber security arena, and we are constantly improving our capabilities to assist our clients in proactively mitigating risks. We have now completed 12 years as an organization due to the pure motivation of developing a centre of excellence.

Could you tell me about the unique experiences NIT offers and what you learn from them beyond academics?
My father used to work at NIT, and consequently, I was born and raised on campus. I started living on campus at a young age until I was 27 years old. I was familiar with practically all of the labs and departments. It was a fantastic opportunity for me to learn and grow by looking at and following alumni and seniors. The diverse notable projects undertaken by the NIT provided me with the ideal platform to develop my skills.

This has given me a lot of insight into the significance and benefits of leveraging technology to achieve business growth. Further, when I finished my VLSI design, IT was booming in the period of 2000. Many NIT students received their big break while working for well-known MNCs. REC is one such organization that will advise people to work for a core company rather than in the service industry. That is the primary distinction between us and other engineering schools.

How would you define Tacitine consulting as an organization and its current position in the market?
We began our journey by serving clients in the financial sector, who began auditing our product to ensure its stability and use fulness. We now serve clients from practically every industry category. We have enough success tales to go around and convey to everyone. We have the opportunity to go out and show off our talents. The early days were difficult. Yes, it was difficult. But it is an unpleasant reality for every business.

We are one of the leading organizations that is known in the
market for playing a considerable part in pushing the ‘Make in India’ movement by indigenously devising robust products/ solutions. Today, we have carved a niche for ourselves due to the positive impact that is being created for businesses through our products’ capability and stability. We never compromise on the quality of the products, and always make ourselves prepared to offer prompt customer support. Further, we are very transparent when it concerns cost and whether the product is the best fit for a particular client or not. If our product is not a fit then we will tell them upfront. We started the company out of passion and not thinking only about money.

Could you tell me about the major factors you take into consideration while suggesting your services and solutions to the clients?
We try to figure out what the customer is looking for. As a result, rather than selling our products, we provide customers with a complete solution as well as ongoing support to ensure efficiency and productivity. We act as a partner to assist them with their company's growth. We ask clients how many internet connections they have and how many employees they have. What is their growth strategy over the next six months? What do they expect from our products?Do they have a server to safeguard them? Who advised them to install a firewall? Is a firewall required for them? And, based on their responses, we provide them with tailored goods with a variety of scalability options. Further, the solution we provide comes with a pay as you grow model so that our clients can enjoy complete flexibility.

What is the future destination you are heading towards?
As a professional firm, we have always been open and honest with our clients. And, as a result of our decade of experience, the company has made amazing progress and is rapidly expanding its clients. With this momentum, we are attempting to secure agreements with a handful of major businesses to deploy our product, PAN India. In addition, we have a separate foreign team to service our international clients, as well as a separate team for governmental projects. We would constantly improve ourselves in order to keep current with the ever-changing market dynamics and exceed our client's expectations.
