Adoption of new and transformational technologies across industries has been increasing over the decades, allowing businesses to grow and survive in an increasingly competitive world. When the pandemic hit us in 2020, technology adoption skyrocketed and business transformation became a necessity for businesses to survive. Adapting to the upheaval of business and operational landscapes has been critical, and most organizations have escalated their efforts to address this unexpected change. Technology is certainly not a choice in this new world but rather a core business strategy that must be weaved in to every aspect of an organization.

To provide technical improvements to all organizations and accelerate the implementation of digital transformation and process automation, Amit Sharma Co-Founded Neocepts in 2019. Amit has 26 years of experience in the IT industry. In an exclusive conversation with CEO Insights, Amit spoke about his entrepreneurial journey.

What inspired you to build a venture in the IT domain and what keeps you going today?
One of the fundamental differences between IT and many other professions is that in IT industry the outcomes are seen very quickly. As a result, the change you are making, whether it is in the customer's business or the product line, is clearly visible. That is a powerful motivation since the impact is enormous. I believe this is also the most important motivator for me because it is what pushes me to make a difference in people's lives.

You have over 25 years of experience in the industry. What
has been the driving force that enabled you to achieve the position you hold today?
Vasudhaiva kutumbakam (the world is one family) is at the very core of Indian philosophy. When management gurus started thinking about these concepts, they coined the term 'blue ocean strategy'. That, in my opinion, is the best mantra for everyone. You grow with everyone; if your only goal is to grow oneself, it will not be sustainable. To be more precise, empathy for my customers, teams, and co-workers, and wanting to see a positive change in everyone has aided my development.

Define Neocepts as an organization and its position in the market.
Neocepts the name itself tells us what motivates us. The name derives from new concepts, and we wanted to introduce fresh insights to the market. IoT initiatives are hard, and they have a high failure rate due to a large number of stake holders. Hence, we solve this by developing the NeoSights platform in which we take end-to-end ownership of IoT project delivery, from sensor selection and design through data collection in the cloud, analytics, and AI, as part of a single platform. Our second product is Enso, a productivity tool. It helps users in self discovery and encourages them towards continuous self-improvement. This resonates with the company's mission to provide fresh ideas that will have a positive impact all around. While we are still in the early stages of development, our position is strong, the market is accepting our products, and we are experiencing growth.

Enlighten us about how NeoSights platform helps build IoT systems and tell us about the company's solution portfolio.
NeoSights is an end-to-end IoT platform. When customers think of use cases, they think of sensors independent of the environment or
data transfer costs. The sensors independent of the environment or data transfer costs. The sensors have to be connected to single bus and enclosed before deployment. We produce our sensors and have our device drivers working on optimized communication protocols that reduce data consumption, which is a vital factor in IoT installations. Our services come as a package, such as how these different sensors communicate with one another and how they are linked together in enclosures.The environment where these are deployed is very important, there is sometimes magnetic interference in factories, which we take care of as well. There are no blind spots because everything is communicated and data is aggregated to the cloud, where the NeoSights platform manages AI rules, notifications, and everything else.

What are the technology trends that can steer your company a step further in the industry? Tell us about your leadership style of steering the ship forward in fetching successful outcomes.
Technology trends are one of the things that I passionately follow. Applicability is more than just understanding the latest technological developments. It is very important to understand where your customer is in the technology adoption journey. I would never recommend a solution or technology to a customer based on the trends unless it fits their tech stack and requirements. Obviously, I think that the trends are all beneficial as they help you understand the evolution of technology. AI and ML are all over, and you need them for actionable insights. Both are an integral part of our product portfolio. Blockchain is a critical instrument for data security and transparency but we do not have a use case for it in our products. However, if the opportunity arises, we will undoubtedly adopt.

Amit completed his PGDM in from XLRI Jamshedpur. In 1996, Amit started his professional journey as Systems Analyst at Birlasoft. Before establishing Neocepts, Amit has spearheaded Digital Transformation initiatives at various large companies.
