Could you tell us about the unique experiences XLRI Jamshedpur offers and what did you learn from the campus beyond academics?
The two years I spent in XLRI was a wonderful learning experience. Academics and classroom learning were just the tip of the iceberg. An understanding of industry req- uirements, the importance of adhering to deadlines, delivering
quality against the odds and a firm
com- mitment to high standards are hard coded into my DNA. As an institution, XLRI stands for integrity, quality, ethics, respect and dependability, all of which I have tried to absorb into my own work ethic and try to practice in my work, every single day.
The unforgettable part was interacting with my fellow XLers, batchmates, seniors and juniors. Sharing experiences, joys, heartbreaks, project teamwork, group outings and going through the ebbs and flows of a shared community. The biggest learning was you always win and lose as a team.
A global approach to business dynamics through international placements, and exposure to international strategies is key to the experience offered at XLRI. The future-looking courses on Service Management, Uncertain Environ- ments, Building Learning Organizations and Strategic Thinking have prepared me for the fluid nature and VUCA-tinged business environment we find ourselves in.
The exposure to internships and live projects in the early years played a vital role in shaping my approach to doing any business and solving any problem. The process and approach were more critical than the solution itself.
Tell us about your leadership approach and the guidelines or methodologies you follow to lead your team.
I follow a very simple formula, I don’t necessarily lead the team. I hire indi-viduals with exceptional leadership qualities, a hunger for knowledge and a passion for doing better. I don’t mind being led by the best minds in the industry. My approach is to hire leaders who are potent enough to lead the organization and even me into a better tomorrow. While I focus on strategic growth, the team concentrates on seamless execution. I also keep challenging myself and putting myself in simulations of what is next because what has worked for the last five years may not necessarily work in the next five.
How do you ensure your organization stays abreast of evolving industry dynamics?

What is the future destination you are heading towards?
It is often said that the digital marketing industry is going to be wiped out soon due to the advent of AI.I understand the speculation and how it can be considered a harbinger of doom. My goal is to transform the current digital marketing ecosystem into an AI-integrated entity. A system, where AI and digital marketing evolve simultaneously. AI is here to stay and our agenda is to utilize it to deliver exceptional results for our customers. The goal is to persist, evolve, and broaden the shape and scale of our ambitions with each passing day.
I feel my journey towards excellence is still a work in progress and I strive every day to be a better professional and make Runtime a better future-proof organisation.
