Bipin Kedia
CEO
SK Weldedmesh Pvt Ltd. is one of the most experienced makers of Weldedmesh in Eastern India, with over two decades of experience in the industry. In an exclusive interaction with CEO Insights, Bipin Kedia spoke about his experience in the construction domain and the technology enhancement at SK Weldedmesh.
What motivated you to pursue a career in the construction industry? What drives you today?
I have always had an aptitude for industrial operations such as production, supplychain management and so on. Eventually I discovered my interest in technology specifically those technologies that can disrupt the old school technique of building, monitoring or any other such hurdles that prevented the entire anticipated without fully optimised product from being realised. I was looking at these technological advancements that can be used to disrupt traditional construction functioning technologies, or fencing approaches. That was one of my key agendas, how to put these products into the practical world, and institutes like IIT taught me how to bring in this transformation through which I can create effective changes in our society and nation as a whole.
What challenges did you face in the early stages of your professional career? What has been the guiding
force that has propelled you above the odds and formed you into the person you are today?
The most challenging aspect of working in East India for me was adjusting to their work culture employer employee relationships, obligations and unfulfilled promises. When people claim todeliver certain products or materials, they failed to deliver on their promises. And, in terms of guiding force, our company's Director and my father Suresh Kumar Kedia, has been my consistent leading influence. He has been inspiring me and the entire workforce with his knowledge in handling complicated problems and providing us with long term solutions.
Could you tell us about the enhancements you've made to SK Welded Mesh as a result of your previous experiences?
We have created the mivan setting SK Welded Mesh is attempting to introduce a technology that can be employed in reinforcing as part of civil engineering where we build structures or infra structure. There's this welded mesh that can be utilized as reinforcement in old school welding processes such as employing wire rods and causing messes on the worksite. It required a significant amount of capital as well as time, labour, and other quality difficulties. We plan to manufacture weldmesh in our facility and ship it to the construction site, which will save a significant amount of time. And this has been employed on a global scale such as in Singapore or European countries, where it is common to hear that a building was built in four or ten days. Have you ever wondered how they make it possible, how they create these buildings, how they connect these buildings, and how they use the same setting technique? We also want India and our society to embrace this technology so that

Take us through the company's product and solution portfolio. What technological frameworks are embedded in your products and solutions?
We are now working on reinforcement mesh; it is our key product that is utilized in the technology of civil construction. Then there's the PIDS, or perimeter intrusion detection system, which is an innovative technology used in the fence circle of our borders. The PIDS can be used for border fencingso that no incursion or trespassing happens. PIDS technology has been deployed along the India Bangladesh border. We are trying extremely hard to find an appropriate solution that we can supply and contribute to our nation's security.
Which milestones in your professional career have provided you with the most satisfaction?
When it comes to milestones, as the CEO of SK Welded Mesh, we are a well known supplier of rebars to Tata. We are one of the leading manufacturers of Anti Cut Mesh, which is a mesh that cannot be cut or climbed over. We supplied this mesh to the India Bangladesh border which is approximately 60 to 80 kilometres long, and it is currently located at the Bangladesh border helping our nation's security. We are also the largest producer of polymer mesh products in eastern India.
What changes in market behaviour do you expect to see in the future and what possibilities do you foresee? What are your long term objectives as an entrepreneur?
As I mentioned earlier, we intend to collaborate with PIDS on a variety of products such as anticut mesh, cameras, radars, and so on. We are merging and integrating all of these elements to create a full proof solution on the fencing, and we believe that this technology will be deployed over the entire border, making it impregnable. Secondly, we want the entire nation to accept reinforcement technology as a solution since it will offer safety, save money and time.
