Muthoot Healthcare boasts a legacy of providing high-quality specialized healthcare services since its inception in 1988. What are the unique strategies Muthoot Healthcare follows to maintain its decades-old reputation?

Muthoot Healthcare's enduring success since 1988 stems from a strategic vision combining tradition and innovation. As Managing Director, I've been fortunate to be part of the team that has driven our global family business towards excellence since 2010. With two multispecialty hospitals in the Pathanamthitta district, we obtained the highly-coveted NABH accreditation in 2015, and after working tirelessly to ensure that we maintain the highest standards possible in medical care and technology, we were also rewarded with the latest NABH 5th edition standards certification. Prioritizing
accessibility, we offer specialized services in multiple Broad Specialties, Super Specialty services, and Senior care.

Our commitment extends beyond medical services to community initiatives, exemplified by our provision of financial aid, supported by the Muthoot Group (our parent company), for numerous patients undergoing chemotherapy, dialysis, and similar treatments. Additionally, we host camps tailored for patients undergoing radiation therapy, chemotherapy, and dialysis. Furthermore, we conduct awareness programs and classes on ACLS and BLS for the public.

By fostering a culture of understanding & acces-sibility, we aim to guide people towards optimal health prac-tices

What technology innovations have you brought into Muthoot Healthcare that position it on a competitive front in the healthcare sector?

At Muthoot Healthcare, we've spearheaded technological innovations to elevate our competitive standing in the healthcare sector. Our Electronic Medical Records (EMR) have been specifically implemented to ensure a seamless and efficient experience; from registration at reception to receiving outpatient care. With our EMR, all patient requirements and details are processed with optimum speed and accuracy, allowing them to experience exceptional care with minimum waiting time. Additionally, introducing a user-friendly mobile app and Whatsapp booking feature empowers patients to book appointments using applications and devices that they are familiar with, conveniently from home, promoting accessibility and comfort. As part of our commitment to sustainability, we're transitioning towards an IP EMR system, striving for a paperless environment.

Patients can access their reports and summaries effortlessly through mobile or desktop platforms. In addition, technology plays a pivotal role in our endeavor with plans for a cutting-edge PET CT machine for advanced cancer detection. Furthemore, our streamlined reception process, incorporating self service machines, minimizes wait times, enhancing the overall patient experience. Embracing these advancements, we're not just embracing the future of healthcare but also contributing to environmental conservation by reducing the usage of paper in our affairs.

In the coming days, we are planning to focus more on advanced telehealth solutions, with AI-driven remote monitoring, and focus on wearable health technology
alongside robotic-assisted surgery and automation.

What are the contemporary barriers to adopting healthy lifestyles, and what solutions exist to guide better choices?

In addressing contemporary challenges to healthy lifestyles such as sedentary lifestyles, unhealthy diets, stress and poor mental health, lack of time to rest, social and cultural factors, and lack of education on these topics, also the pervasive trend of self-diagnosis online poses a significant hurdle. Rather than consulting professionals, individuals rely on Internet information for dietary choices and treatment decisions. At Muthoot Healthcare, we proactively combat this by leveraging awareness videos and programs conducted by our consultants.

We educate patients on common conditions that can be misinterpreted, including but not limited to asthma, diabetes, and hypertension. This emphasizes the importance of seeking expert guidance for personalized treatment plans. Through comprehensive awareness initiatives within our hospital, we strive to empower individuals to make informed choices and discourage self-medication. By fostering a culture of understanding and accessi-bility, we aim to guide people towards optimal health practices.

What is the future destination you are headed towards?

We are actively pursuing expansion, particularly in wellness and home care services, recognizing the significant opportunities in these areas. The emphasis extends beyond local laboratories to encompass home based healthcare solutions. Our strategic vision includes extending our footprint to various regions across India and diversifying beyond the confines of a single state. Whether specializing in specific medical fields or offering superlative services, the goal is to enhance our brand presence. This ongoing process aligns with our overarching plans, ensuring a comprehensive and strategic approach to future growth.
