Senior Consultant (Cardiology)

Cardiology is the work of the heart, where every saved heartbeat tells a story of resilience, risk, and breakthrough innovation. It is no longer just about treating illness but about predicting, preventing, and personalizing care like never before.

With AI-driven diagnostics and advanced treatments, heart care is evolving rapidly. Yet, the true challenge lies in bridging the gap between advancements and realworld patient outcomes. Among the few striving to close this gap is Dr. Jogendra Singh, Senior Consultant – Cardiology at Sant Parmanand Hospital.

A gold medalist, global speaker, and prolific academic contributor, Dr. Jogendra has performed over 3,000 angioplasties and 8,000 angiographies, redefining cardiac interventions.

With over a decade of clinical and inter ventional expertise, he specializes in coronary, carotid, renal, and peripheral angioplasties, along with advanced cardiac devices like pacemakers and ICDs. His contributions continue to shape the future of cardiovascular medicine worldwide.

Give a brief account about your professional journey. What drives your daily routines?
Cardiology isn’t just my profession; it’s my calling. I am an international cardiologist who began a medical journey at Safdarjung Hospital, where I completed my MBBS and MD in Internal Medicine. Wanting to specialize further, I pursued a Doctor of Medicine (DM) in Cardiology at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS).

After my DM, I practiced at some of India’s top tertiary care centers, including Apollo and Fortis, gaining hands-on experience in advanced cardiology services. Today, I bring that expertise to Sant Parmanand Hospital, which has two branches in Delhi.

What drives me is a strong desire to improve public health
and address cardiovascular disease, a leading cause of death worldwide. Every patient, every case is a reminder that heart health can’t wait.

How is health tech shaping patient care and diagnosis at your hospital?
Technology is changing the way we care for the heart. With the growing emergence of AI tools and telemedicine, our hospitals now have wearable devices that track pulse rate, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, and even arterial health. Some can even detect arrhythmias and warn of a potential heart attack before it happens.

Additionally, we use electronic health records, mobile health apps, and remote monitoring systems to identify patients who need urgent care before their condition worsens. By integrating these tools, we are enhancing the precision and effectiveness of cardiac care.

What challenges prevent healthy life style choices, and how can they be addressed?
Misinformation is everywhere, especially in health. Social media floods people with conflicting advice, leaving them confused about what to trust. At the same time, modern lifestyles like long screen hours, less physical activity, poor diets, and rising stress are taking a toll on both physical and mental health. Post-COVID, anxiety and depression have surged, while economic barriers make access to healthcare and wellness programs even harder.

The solution isn’t just more information but the right kind of support. We need clear, evidence based guidance, real mental health resources, and community-driven initiatives that encourage better habits. Personalized health plans and economic incentives can also make well-being more accessible.

Tell us about your leadership approach and the methodologies you follow as a leader?
Advanced patient care isn’t a one-size-fits-all approach. Every patient, every case, and every situation demands a different mix of strategies, technology, and approach. The key is collaboration between leaders, learners, and teams who challenge each other to improve. It’s about mentoring juniors, refining systems, and making quality the standard, not the goal.
But progress isn’t just about efficiency; a strong work-life balance is just as essential. Without it, even the best strategies fall apart.

How do you keep yourself up-to-date with ongoing industry trends?
Medicine field is very dynamic and staying ahead in cardiology means tapping into every resource like journals, conferences, expert networks, and even social media. We attend Regular conferences and seminars and also engage with professional organizations like the Cardiology Society of India, the American Heart Association, and the European Society of Cardiology. Social media and digital forums help us connect with experts, track innovations, and stay informed about emerging technologies and devices.

What is the future destination you are heading towards?
My vision for the future is to advance cardiology care and ensure that the people around me have access to the best health facilities. My goal isn’t just to practice medicine but to push boundaries by leveraging new technologies, upgrading treatments, and refining medical practices to reduce the burden of cardiovascular disease. As I grow in my field, I also want to elevate my institute into a leading center for cardiac care.

What advice would you give to the upcoming healthcare industry leaders?
In a short span of time, I have become one of the youngest cardiologists to lead an institute like Sant Parmanand Hospital, located in an elite area of Delhi. Here, I provide advanced cardiac care; ensuring patients have access to the latest treatments.

I believe that doctors with strong knowledge and technical expertise can grow rapidly in this field, just as I have. Looking ahead, we plan to expand into complex cardiac procedures, including transcutaneous intravascular replacements and advanced ablation techniques. These innovations, along with specialized fellowships, will help train and elevate the next generation of cardiologists.
