CEO Insights recently had the opportunity to have an exclusive interaction with Dr. Roshan about his journey so far, along with his organization Anaya Hospitals. Below are the excerpts from the exclusive interview.
Enlighten us about your educational and professional background.
I have completed my MBBS from the Pravara Institute of Medical Sciences and my Master in International Health from the University of New South Wales, Sydney. Additionally, I also hold Fellowships in Minimal Access Surgery from World Laparoscopy Hospital and Critical Care Medicine from Apollo Medvarsity. Post my MBBS degree, I started working as a Medical Officer under various departments and started gathering first hand knowledge of the nitty gritty of the Indian healthcare ecosystem. Later, I studied comparative healthcare systems on a global scale. Post completing my Masters I was privileged to work with some of the leading healthcare
industry experts and surgeons in India. This experience, along with my knowledge of the industry has helped me immensely in my journey so far.
What were some of the major challenges that you faced during the initial stages of your entrepreneurial journey?
The foundation stone for Anaya Hospitals was laid in 2019, and being a first-generation entrepreneur, I had to face a number of challenges. Also, the Covid-19 pandemic and the nationwide lockdown that was imposed the following year posed their own set of unprecedented hindrances. However, through sheer determination and perseverance, we realigned our daily operations accordingly and managed to steer clear of rough waters. I am proud to say that ours was the only non-Covid hospital at that time despite almost all hospitals becoming Covid centers during the period. Additionally, we also performed many major surgeries, including deliveries, without concentrating on making profits despite the growing expenses. This shows our dedication towards the work we do and for the benefit of society.

Located in Hyderabad, Anaya Hospitals is a rapidly emerging multispecialty hospital that is very well known in the region for offering high-quality medical care services at affordable rates to all masses of society, thus making quality healthcare easily accessible to all. However, what makes Anaya Hospitals truly unique is its hospitality and the fact that our doctors stay in touch with each patient even after their discharge to ensure that they are completely cured and do not face any problems in the future.
What is your advice to today’s youngsters on maintaining a healthy lifestyle and well being?
The Covid pandemic has had an adverse impact on the both physical and mental health of people across all age groups, making them habituated to a sedentary lifestyle. The working populace, especially the ones in the IT sector, is affected majorly due to this. However, a positive effect of the pandemic was that due to the work-from-home and remote working practices, people have cultivated stronger bonds with their family members. So, my advice to people is to make gradual changes in their daily routine, as even these minor changes can lead to better and improved health and well-being. Also, make sure to include as many fruits & vegetables as possible in your daily food intake, walk a minimum of 2-3 km each day, and ensure you get at least eight hours of sleep every night. These practices, although quite simple, go a long way in maintaining a healthy lifestyle and help you in the long run.
What is the future roadmap set for your self and your organization?
I strongly believe that access to high-quality healthcare services at affordable rates must not be a privilege to a few, but a right to all.Thus, I always keep in mind the rapid pace at which the healthcare industry is growing and strive to make quality care as affordable as possible for all classes of society.
