Highlight upon the vision and mission of MATS Institute of Management and Entrepreneurship? How is the school addressing some of the pain points that plague the higher education sector in the country?
The vision and mission of the institution embedded within the JGI mission is to foster managerial competence, leadership, entrepreneurialism, through quality management education across the national and global context. Realisation of this broad vision of the MATS Institute requires multiple strategies and focus. The focus of the pedagogical and curri cular and co-curricular initiatives not only emphasise on managerial compe
tence we also give key emphasis on entre preneurialism. We encourage the students to explore and experiment with their knowledge, skills and competencies that are required for them to either become entrepreneurs to generate employ ment or intrapreneurs to foster creativity and innovation.
Throw some light on the Entrepreneur programs and curriculum of MATS Institute of Management and Entrepreneurship? How the curriculums are designed to impart industry specific Entrepreneur Programs to the students?
Entrepreneurship Development is comprehen sive course, which enables the students to get familiarize with all the key aspects of being in business and entrepreneuria lism. One of the key challenges is to be able to venture into an entrepreneurial initiative i.e.a startup or business, which not only just revolves around the innate ability of why did you to get into business, but also to be able to handle the risks involved. Once they start a business, you need to understand that to survive in this competitive world, you need to have a good robust business model as well as a good understanding of what it means to run a business or become an entrepreneur. You also need to understand the legislative environment or operational environment, such as the process and procedure for setting up a business. We ensure a broad coverage across all these domains along with the wide classifi cations about different forms of organi zations, different industry types i.e. product based and service based, as part of our integrated curriculum.
Our alumni entrepreneurs join our discussions with students to share their insights and experiences on what it means to become an entrepreneur. Through multiple forums and clubs, we encourage them to learn from expert insights, work shops, seminars, symposiums, exercises and presentations. The curriculum integrates Organizational Study and summer internship which permits a student to get the neces sary exposure to operational dimensions of business and enable them to comprehend what it means to be an integral part of an organization, understand the nitty gritty of the organization.

Being an autonomous institution, our curriculum is revised annually to ensure a standardized regulated process that ensures updating of curriculum to reflect the contemporary practices of management and ensure training the students with competencies and skill sets necessary for the corporate and business entities. Economies have been successful not only because of the existence of big enter prises but also numerous small and medium entities created by entrepreneurs who have helped in job creation and job sustenance. The understanding of the VUCA world is imperative for the students to appreciate and understand the disruption caused by the volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity of the contemporary world of business and economy. MIME apart from facilitating the students earning and understanding through the teaching learning process, encourages students to be proactive and creative in wading through the course to garner a better understating of the ways of the world of doing business.
