The seed of Medvarsity was laid by Dr. Prathap C. Reddy, Founder & Chairman of the Apollo Hospitals Group, Dr. Preetha Reddy and Dr. Sangita Reddy in the year 2000. Gerald Jaideep took over the company in 2016 and since then, Medvarsity has reimagined its potential of impacting healthcare through technology and education. In an exclusive interview with CEO Insights, Bibhuti talks more about his professional journey, and the growth story of Medvarsity.

Tell us about your educational and professional background? How do you define your role in the organization and what drives you today?
I have spent a significant part of my career working with startups in the early and growth phase. In the last 19 years, I have enabled both digital first businesses and traditional businesses to grow exponentially by strengthening the brand. In my roles as marketing and growth head for some of the most iconic and rapidly-growing brands in India, I have delivered sustainable revenue growth and built high performing teams ground up. I was one of the earliest team members at Info Edge India (Naukri.com) and Matrimony Ltd (BharatMatrimony.com). I worked 2022 TOP 10 with Deccan Chronicle & HCL too. Prior to joining Medvarsity I was part of the India team of Alibaba Pictures Group.
At Medvarsity, with a focus on driving growth across all our business verticals and not limited to e-learning, I lead the brand and growth initiatives. My primary goal is to translate the healthcare technology trends of tomorrow to inspire change today and deliver value to our audience and stakeholders. I find opportunities everyday aiming at fast and organic results for Medvarsity's growth. I and my team enable strategies aiming at achieving significant and accelerated business growth by identifying its critical points. I and my team are getting our businesses ready for expansion and investments too.

At Medvarsity we intend to own the graduation to exit cycle of a healthcare professional and enable them towards a successful career

I'm an alumnus of UCLA Anderson School of Management, Los Angeles and Amrita Vishwavidya Peetham, Coimbatore.

What is the unique proposition that your organization offers to its clients?
The gaps in healthcare education led to the birth of Medvarsity. To upskill healthcare professionals and make them employable, upgrade their medical knowledge, help them grow in their career, and most importantly to enable better treatment outcomes. At Medvarsity, we intend to own the graduation to exit cycle of a healthcare professional and enable them towards a successful career. We aim to be a significant entity in the healthcare technology ecosystem not limited tohealthcare education technology.

Our flagship brand Medvarsity.com offers online and blended learning fellowship and certificate courses to healthcare professionals. Our blended training solutions combine the best of traditional e-learning, live virtual classes, and clinical bedside learning at leading hospitals in India. Healthcare professionals earn Medvarsity certification for employ ability, career growth, knowledge upgradation and better earning capabilities.

With the objective of catering to 360-degree aspects of Healthcare EdTech, we have also commenced several other initiatives including BookMysim.one, India's first medical simulation aggregator platform launched in May 2021 Dosily.com,
which offers 1000 courses across 27 specialties and Healthjobs.one an exclusive job platform for the healthcare industry.

Being the Head Brand & Growth Medvarsity Online what are your future plans for the company?
As a company, we’ll continue to stay focused on healthcare. We are looking at expanding to more ubiquitous learning models to enable passive and active learning strategies. We’re working on expanding our presence across the SAARC region and MENA region in the short term and potentially in North America in the medium to long term.

In your professional journey so far, which are the experiences that bestowed you with utmost satisfaction both personally and professionally?
I will share one of my recent experiences at Medvarsity. During this pandemic where the government and hospitals came together to strengthen the response through procurement of life saving ventilators, it was critical that all our doctors are skilled on the use and management of ventilators. Medvarsity trained over 1 lakh doctors on the use and management of mechanical ventilators. This was done under 60 days. This work done by our team was able to save human lives and improve the clinical outcomes of patients across the country when they need it the most. This was a satisfying and humbling experience.

In the light of your vast experience, what advice would you like to give to the budding professionals who aspire to become strong agents of organizational growth?
Forward thinking professionals are multi taskers, the more and varied your skill set, the more you can add to your organization. Be results driven but comfortable with ambiguity too. Have no fear of failure because it's the quickest way to gain valuable information. Be strategic yet agile. Keep your end users and audience at the center of any decisions that you take. Do not micro manage but take an active role in the day-to-day management of your business and function. Get your hands dirty to effectively lead and encourage collaboration. Most importantly keep learning and upgrading your knowledge as you grow in your career.
