Raval and Trivedi claims to be a ‘Kids Friendly Workplace’ and it is another thoughtful initiative by Namrata Trivedi. Being a mother, she understood how hard it is for a mother to balance work and giving time to your child too. Lot of new moms don’t get the courage to rejoin work with the fear of losing time with the kids. At Raval and Trivedi they have a dedicated playroom developed for the kids, also a separate washroom for kids. This helps the moms to get kids to the workplace with them and give time to them while working.

In an exclusive interview with CEO INSIGHTS, Namrata talks more about her professional journey and the unique operations of Raval & Trivedi Associates.

Can you talk more about your educational and professional background?
I am a third generation lawyer and unlike many in the law industry, I started off in pharmacy and finished my Bachelors in Pharmacy. During my third year at the college, during a debate competition I came across pharmaceutical patents and then, I went to my father to learn more about it.After finishing my pharmaceutical education, I wanted to get into the patents industry to know more about it. Before that, I did my Masters in Pharmaceutical
technology from Kings College London and specialized in Nano Technology. At that time, in India, there was no real use of nano technology and to get into the patent industry, I worked with a law firm in Ahmedabad. Within the first month of working there, I applied to a law school as well and that’s how my journey in law started. Having a great mentor in the law firm I worked in and the various lawyers within my family helped me in my journey as well.

I wanted to put all my effort to constant learning so that I will always be able to stay ahead of the curve

What was the motivation behind the establishment of Raval & Trivedi Associates?
The primary motive for me to start a law firm of my own came from my daughter and I realized that, the time I am away from her should be fully utilized to grow and develop. That is how my company got incepted and I wanted to put all my effort to constant learning so that I will always be able to stay ahead of the curve.

Can you talk more about your operations and what separates you from the rest?
We have created a diversified service portfolio that includes litigation, intellectual property rights, media and entertainment, corporate and commercial law, and immigration to mention a few. All these services are designed and developed in such a way that our clients get the best value for money services. When I started managing the firm, I realized that there was a prevalent problem in the industry that most people overlooked. That was, when you go to a lawyer, you might have to give them a lot of documents and there is a chance that those documents can be misplaced. Apart from that, there were many communication gaps as well and I wanted to address these issues. To achieve our goals,we have a created an application which was developed in house which can be used by the clients through unique login ids where they can get
real time information of how their case is doing. The clients can also send documents to us through our websites and these are stored in our servers which addresses the issues of documents getting misplaced or lost. All this has also helped us to operate seamlessly even during the height of the covid-19 pandemic. This passion for transparency and client centric operations have always helped us to stand out in the industry and through our drive for constant innovation, we are aiming to always stay on top of our game.

Can you mention some of the major milestones that have bestowed you utmost satisfaction?
Inception of the firm was in itself a great achievement for me. Apart from that, running the non-litigation operations provided me with great amount of joy too.

The legatech initiative taken up by our company is also something that I take great pride in. We worked on developing an inhouse application for our law firm which has been a great boon for the clients as well as the lawyers in the firm. While it helps the firms associates to have information of their cases on the go, it helps clients have transparency and access to all their case related information at a click. This initiative really helped the organisation and our clients to cope up with the pandemic. The clients did not panic as they had all access and updates to their cases while the firms associates could easy work from home as they could access required documents from the safety of their home.

What are some of the major future plans of the company?
Over the last year, there were new reformations and changes happening in the legal realm as well. For us, we are aiming to incorporate new technologies into our operations and we are also aiming to develop into a major player when it comes to law in data privacy and financial technology as well.
