What different roles have you been undertaking at Shubh Labh Consultancy? What were the initial challenges that taught you the basic lessons of managing diversified functions of large organizations?
I have started this business from scratch and hence played all the roles that there could be. The journey so far has been most satisfying as I did everything in my power to move forward by assuming all the possible roles. I have done business development, marketing, sales, claims handling, portfolio management everything. As my team grew, I slowly delegated each task and currently, I am involved in a promoter capacity. I guide my team as and when necessary.
Coming from a service class
background to becoming an entrepreneur, I initially managed every thing from office management, public relations, budgeting, team administration, finance everything was learning on the job. Started as a one man army, we have now become a team of 25 talented individuals. Although there were numerous challenges, I persistently believed that continuous success can only be achieved with consistent levels of service and relationship development. You have to make efforts to keep your clients engaged, to maintain their trust and always have their best interests in mind.
How does your vast experience help you to chalk out efficient business modules at Shubh Labh Consultancy? What are the strategies/methods you put forward to align your organization with your vision and mission?
Since I have the exposure to different industries, one of the most important things I have learned is to get to the root when any issue arises. Let it be related to a retail customer or to one of my top notch corporates, whenever there is any significant issue related to anything I go in detail and sort that out. The second and most important thing is that I have learned that the secret of dealing with various kinds of people is to maintain patience. Another key expertise of mine or rather an experience I have had is to help people out when they need it without considering my professional interest. I think when you work tirelessly with passion everything turns out to be on your side. I have always enjoyed the work and would always say Yes to any kind of work.
As the MD, what type of insurance structures and policies do you build for the benefit of the clients and how do you ensure to get ROI for the clients?
We sell the products in which we believe in and work only with the insurance companies who give out their best services to support us as well as our clients. My company’s job is to be in regular touch with all our clients, understand their needs and then provide suitable solutions.
How do you maintain a balance between your personal and professional life? What are the characteristics of successful Insurance leaders and what is your secret success mantra?
I maintain a perfect balance between my personal and professional life by taking out time for all important family events and always being there wherever I am needed. Which are some of the key milestones that bestowed you with utmost satisfaction both as an individual and as a profes sional?
Having previously worked with The New India Assurance Co. Ltd. for more than 20 years, I have emerged as a competent professional with over 39 years of experience in the Insurance field backed with distinguished academic credentials. With more than 100+ Medals/ Certificates/ Appreciationletters from General Insurance Field during the tenure, I have remained a CMD Club Member for eight years from Inception in The New India Assurance Co. Ltd. Starting from balancing portfolio, claims & variety of business proposal balance, to managing the domestic and international corporate risk of more than 150 corporates & asset base of over INR 30,000 crore, I have been responsible for serving over 1200 individual and HNI clients for their insurance requirement settling the same.
In the 2001 Earthquake, 80% of claims were settled through GCCI within a year with the support of the Government of Gujarat and four PublicSector Insurance Companies. In the recent past, I have taken the initiative in Claim settlement with the Government of Gujarat during the time of Natural Calamities in Ahmedabad, Surat and Various Parts of Gujarat. I have also been the SME Advisory Board Member of ICICI Lombard GIC, the largest private insurance company.

Graduated in BSc from Gujarat University, In his career worked as development officer at New India Assurance, Convenor & India SME Forum Chairman, and has been associated with the Insurance Task Force, GCCI Governing Council Member: Ahmedabad Management Association. Aprat from Shubh Labh group, he is presently engaged as the director of Karnavati Club Ltd., board Member of Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry, board of Management for Indus University, director of Metroglobal and United Cooperative Bank, trustee of Vaishnav Interfaith Pushtimargiya Organisation(VIPO), vice Chairman of Manekbaug Co.op. Society, he is extremely happy with both of his sons who had entered in the same business and had taken over in an amazing way. They both are growing socially as well with different organization.
