Throw some light on your background and experiences. What inspired you to start your professional journey in the business development and project management domain?
It has been an exciting and fulfilling journey filled with massive learning that enabled me to mould my personality to match the business world. In my 18years of career’s journey, I worked in 5 different companies and met many great
leaders who influenced me and helped me in my growth.
I am a passionate leader who puts great deal of effort on people engagement and relationship management and lot of credit for this goes to two of my IBM Managers. My first manager identified my true potential early in my career and exposed me to do things beyond my role, and my second manager picked me up from there and pushed me towards business and clients. I held 9 different roles in my five-year stint with IBM and that speaks a lot about the exposure I got there. There is a quote from Jim Rohn saying, “You are average of 5 people you spend the most time with”. While not entirely true, it does have an interesting thought to ponder over, and I do feel that I was learning from some of the great minds early in my career who helped me develop as a leader.
What are the learnings and experience that you had acquired from IIM Calcutta and how do you apply them in your current role?
Joining IIM-C was an important part of my educational and professional journey, the institute skilled me with the traits that are required to excel in life. Knowledge of Business and Analytics in their isolation won’t help you acquire the relevant Business Analytics skill and IIM-C was fantastic in connecting the bridge between them. I truly understood the concepts beyond the books and was sharp enough to think of business use cases of the skill. Knowing the fact that how Data Science, AI and ML is prevalent in market right now, I feel quite fortunate enough to be an early adopter of the knowledge. I thank all the great faculty and the fantastic curriculum they had that helped me gain some great insights in this field. Another massive learning was

Experience doesn’t come from the number of years in tenure; it comes from the challenges you’ve faced in those years
