Give us brief details about your educational and professional background before Kataria Insurance Brokers. Also, how are you leveraging the best of these elements across your Company's operations?
I did my schooling in Ahmedabad and pursued MBA from Australia. I joined the automobile business at the early age of 22 years. With my knack for having hands-on experience, I improved on understanding the cutting edge aspects of all businesses which became the fundamental reasons for rampant yet logical expansion and growth.
I am the 3rd generation entrepreneur of the family. My father and current Chairman of the group, Shri Rajendra Kumar Kataria diversified the group into automobile, insurance, finance and infrastructure sectors with his vision and enterprise and gradually passed on the baton to me.

As Managing Director of the company, I believe in empowering people, periodic monitoring, using the best digital tools to enhance our potential reach, investing in human capital to ensure the best resources are obtained for the organization.

What were the initial challenges that taught you the basic lessons of managing diversified functions of organizations? How does your vast experience in Insurance & Finance help you to chalk out efficient business modules at Kataria Insurance Brokers?
Compliances, retention & digitalization across all verticals, three are the basic challenges that taught me the lessons of managing diversified businesses. I am a risk taker when it comes to investing in the best of the technology or human capital, we find ways to overcome the challenges through better team management across all verticals.

One of our important verticals is Kataria Insurance Brokers, we have never faced any major challenges to chalk out efficient business modules as we are already an established name in automobile dealer ships, where Insurance of motors is a mandatory requirement. Under one of the largest dealership groups, we have a deep understanding of the potential and growth path of the Insurance and Finance verticals.

How do Kataria Insurance Brokers satisfy customers' and client's needs? What are the strategies you put forward to align your organization with your vision and mission?
We are a privileged family of over a million happy customers who have different requirements and give us constant opportunity to serve them with our new products and services, that's our strength and pride.

We follow robust SOPs right from the understanding of client's profiles, their needs, risk analysis, much more and then offer a most suitable and cost effective solution giving maximum risk coverage. Our core objective is to give maximum peace of mind to our customers.We have an excellent relationship with all Insurance companies due to our transparent working and systematic processes and documentation that helps us to serve our customers
better in many scenarios.

What type of insurance structures and policies do you build for the benefit of the clients? How do you update yourself and your team with the new trends and latest technologies in the domain of Insurance?
The insurance business is governed by a regulatory body IRDA and like a responsible and credit worthy broking company, we respect and follow all statutory compliances as and when necessary. I believe that organizational goals should be clear to every individual in the company to secure their highest contribution. Vague leads to vague or general results, thus at Kataria make sure that the alignment of our goals starts at the top. We have a concept called Think Tech, where in we juggle ideas across the team. We invite them to bring the best practices and ideas. As the management, we encourage people to come forward and bring their best versions.

How do you maintain a balance between your personal and professional life? What will be your advice for the young gene ration who wish to be future leaders?
When it comes to keeping a balance between my personal and professional life, my Mantra would always be to spend time on yourself,your self development & grooming, invest in technology be updated, be a risk taker.

I am a firm believer that empowerment of people and customer centricity are the two proven attributes of the success of any business. Behind my success, there is strong support from my devoted wife Mrs. Amita Patni Kataria. She has the dual responsibility of nurturing our two adorable teenage sons while playing a very active role as a customer focused Director in several businesses.

What are the characteristics of successful Insurance leaders? What are the major aspects & accomplishments of your professional journey?
While I lead from the front I believe in the delegation like any modern CEO, I crave to find solutions to business bottlenecks by technology and automation to bring in efficiency and quality. My business ethics, insight and always ready-to-help attitude make me a preferred partner.
