Tell us about your educational and professional background.
Having done BE Mechanical, I established a company Jay Khodiyar Machine Tools in 1994, Jay Khodiyar Machine Tools manufacture & Export of Biomass Briquetting Plant, Biomass Dryer, MSW/RDF dryer and wood chipper. As Jay Khodiyar machine tools company manufacturing of waste to energy plant and it helps to save environment and produce green energy and make eco friendly world. It feels great to be a little part of saving environment.
Enlighten us with the inception story of Jay Khodiyar?
I am the son of a farmer. During my early days, while working with my father in the farm, I used to see all the agricultural wastes being burnt in the field. I always felt it's detrimental for the soil & environment, and since then, I always mulled over various possibilities to utilizing this waste for good of the environment. I wanted to convert the green waste into resourceful energy that's renewable and inexhaustible.
My education proved to be my
stepping stone to fulfilling my dream of curating renewable sources of energy and saving the environment, parallelly. Our Machine Tools company manufactures biomass briquetting plant & machine equipment that helps convert all agriculture waste into fuel briquettes. Customers can expect advance latest technology features in our machineries and remarkable before and after 24x7 sales, technical and marketing support. It feels great to be a little part of saving environment. Our short & long term goal is to aware the world about ecofriendly fuel briquette and thereby help save environment &stop deforestation. For achieving our goals, we are taking part in exhibitions to spread awareness about the usage of ecofriendly fuel briquettes.
Even in the times of Covid-19, like other industries, renewable energy industry was also affected due to lockdown, travel ban and flight restrictions. We overcame this hurdle with the gift of digital world and technology, initiating digital meetings and video conference with the clients. We ensured to provide full support & solution to our clients this way.

It's been a long period of 27+ years being at the helm and leading Jay Khodiyar Machine Tools as its CEO & MD. Entering the industry right after my degree, I have had cumulative work experience. However, I have always relied on strong work ethics and constructive team work for achieving the company's mission& vision. Positioning Jay Khodiyar amongst the top organization in Briquetting plant manufacture & machine manufactures has always been my dream, and it has only been possible due to our constant endeavor to providing quality product. Never compromising on quality, we have valued the customer satisfaction first. We have also deployed a complete set of project guidelines, 24x7 technical and marketing support to the serve the customers optimally, and this is the reason Jay Khodiyar has built a strong reputation in the industry.
However, it has always been challenging to start a new industry. When I ventured in this industry in 1994, people were not aware about ecofriendly fuel briquettes. Our biggest challenge was to aware people about ecofriendly, renewable source of energy briquette. As the time passed, we got more & more customers, executed more & more projects, and made people more aware about these fuel briquettes.

After couple of years of struggle, briquette market started booming. Continuously taking feedback from our clients, upgrading our technology and making required improvements in our product, we have built a strong and happy customer base. Currently, we have 5500+ clients who have procured machines & equipment from us to set-up their briquetting plant & machinery.
Mention some of the most exciting project so far and the learning you had from them?
We have had two most exciting projects so far. First was with the Godrej India company, where we supplied four machines to them. Their engineers & team made automation in all these machines and helped save manpower. It helped us to learn about inducing automation in the projects from start to end. Also, the second exciting project was with Bioles Horizont in Slovenia(Europe).
In this, European engineers made upgrade in technology for automation and auto machine operation. It helped us in learning to operating machines remotely using mobile. The two projects were quite enriching.
How do you update yourself with the latest technologies and trends in renewable industry?
Upgrade in technologies and trends in market is constant. Hence, focusing on research and developments,we always update our machineries with new technologies. However, we never drift away from keeping our products low maintenance, easy to operate, and complying the latest features.
What is the future roadmap of Jay Khodiyar?
When we started the company in 1994, we had only five clients, and it was in 2005 when we began exporting our machines worldwide. Until now, we have supplied our machineries across 75+ countries in the world, and have entrenched a large market base in Africa, Europe, US, UK, South America, and other Asian countries. In a single country Vietnam, we have supplied more than 200 machines. Our 100+ projects are running in Europe and we are exploring our market in Europe. Having drawn 5500 + clients (to whom we supplied our machineries) this year in 2021, we are expecting 10,000+ clients by 2025.
