Could you walk us through the milestones of your professional journey?
My professional journey began with a focus on mechanical engineering, leading to roles in research and development at Mahindra & Mahindra. Transitioning to design, I explored automotive and jewelry design before venturing into the service industry due to economic constraints. This experience in the restaurant sector ignited my passion for hospitality, culminating in establishing my first venture.

Recognizing the need for nutritious dining options, I founded Vegsutra Hospitality in 2011, marking a shift towards catering to modern consumer preferences. Despite facing challenges during the 2020 pandemic, strategic expansions and innovations fueled our growth trajectory, transforming losses into profitability. Throughout this journey, the dedication of our team and commitment to innovation have been paramount, propelling us forward towards continued success.

From your experience within the industry, what are the best customer-centric practices you train the team to deliver an enjoyable and memorable dining experience?
In the realm of hospitality, service reigns supreme. Beyond merely offering a product, it's the exceptional service that elevates the eating experience. At every interaction, we strive to exceed expectations, leaving a lasting impression on our clients.

We have forged partnerships with local farmers, ensuring our ingredients are fresh and responsibly sourced, with a focus on items like tomatoes and onions from nearby regions. Our menu reflects this ethos, predominantly featuring plant-based options that celebrate the richness of vegetarian cuisine.

From homemade paneer sourced directly from local dairy farms to consciously avoiding animal products, we are dedicated to promoting sustainable practices while delivering delicious meals.

By prioritizing local sourcing and embracing plant-based alternatives, we not only reduce our environmental footprint but also contribute to the economic vitality of our community, ensuring a win-win for all stakeholders involved.
What is your future roadmap?
Our future roadmap is meticulously crafted to propel us towards greater heights of success. We have conducted comprehensive market studies and laid the groundwork for expansion, ensuring that every step aligns with our vision for growth. With a solid foundation of profitable restaurants across Maharashtra, we are now poised to replicate this success through a robust franchise business model. By inviting franchise owners to join our journey and share in our success story, we aim to establish 500 new outlets across India, and beyond.

Additionally, our recent entry into North America with a restaurant in Toronto, Canada, has gained considerable momentum, especially among the Indian community who are already familiar with our brand. This serves as a testament to the global appeal of our offerings. With strategic expansion plans both domestically and internationally, we are committed to reaching new horizons while staying true to our core values of excellence and innovation.

In light of your strong professional experience within the industry, what would be your advice to budding industry leaders?
Drawing from my extensive industry experience, my advice to emerging leaders is rooted in honesty, patience, and passion. Honesty forms the bedrock of ethical leadership, essential for building trust and credibility with stakeholders. Patience is equally crucial, as success often requires perseverance through challenges and setbacks. Additionally, maintaining a genuine passion for solving real issues and benefiting all stakeholders fosters long-term sustainability.

Avoiding shortcuts and prioritizing transparent communication with customers ensures integrity in business practices. Instead of blindly following trends, focus on discovering your unique selling proposition and niche market. Embrace cultural diversity and celebrate the richness of culinary traditions, staying true to your vision rather than surrendering to market pressures.
