Being well-versed with the nuances of the furniture industry owing to her parent's business in the same domain, Sarika had a degree in the interior designing course which persuaded her to embark on her journey as a new age entrepreneur of the brand Yash Furnitures. Familiar with the potential of Bangalore as an upcoming furniture market, Sarika laid the foundation of Yash Furnitures in 2004. Yash Furnitures today is a one stop solution for home and office furniture needs and has not looked back ever since.

Over the years, we have transitioned ourselves to become a one stop shop solution for all the furniture needs. We provide a wide range of products ranging from home furniture to office furniture. Further more, we have collaborated with Euro steel, the manufacturer of the finest steel storage solution and MKM Luxe Suisse a Swiss furniture conglomeration that gives us access to over 40 European brands.
These collaborations have enabled us to provide high end luxury furniture to our customers.As a result we are currently in both the mid range and luxury furniture

market. Our unique supply chain provides the customer with a wide range of solutions that can be customized and personalized according to their requirements. That is why we believe that at Yash Furnitures we are just not selling products but are completing homes.

What are the marketing and distribution strategies that you have adopted to dominate the market and what are your future ideations to tap into the unexplored areas?
When it comes to marketing, we believe that the best form of marketing comes from a happy customer. The majority of our clients are a result of word of mouth. We also take part in trade fairs regularly, which not only give us great exposure but also enable us to stand out from our competitors. In the initial days of Yash Furnitures, we were primarily imported from China and Malaysia. But with the changing times, we have developed our distribution channels quite well by collaborating with global brands which help us provide our customers with access to the finest European furniture. Our manufacturing units help us campaign the ‘Made in India' initiative, and this strategy has worked wonders for our establishment as we can provide our customers with whatever they desire and require.

How do you stay innovative and updated? What's your success mantra? What are your future plans?
We have installed the principle of constant innovation across our
business practices, and it has been our driving force to further venture into international markets. The furniture industry is very competitive, and we are constantly required to provide a new range of products to our customers that helps our furniture to standout. To provide an end to end customized solution that is unprecedented, we assure our customers of an optimum level of personalization, and this helps us constantly thrive in such a dynamic market.

The pandemic has questioned every aspect of normal life known to us and introduced one of the biggest changes in terms of work from home culture. This change is a big opportunity for the furniture industry, and our future plans involve further development of our home office furniture product line, while simultaneously working on our home furniture line too. We have noticed that a customer who predominantly works from home prefers to be surrounded by aesthetic and comfortable furniture, which is why we are slowly seeing a rise in the home furniture market as well. To provide a complete work from home solution is our immediate mission.

What will be your message to the budding entrepreneurs in this domain?
I believe that adversities are opportunities and difficulties are challenges. The concept of right or wrong is only a reflection of a person's perspective. If a person starts to accept this approach, they will find themselves to be more open minded and accepting of the differences between other people. And I believe that this open mindedness and positive attitude are also key to running a successful business.
