Farm mechanization plays a critical role in increasing agricultural productivity. How ever, the overall penetration and know how remains inadequately low. To boost productivity,TractorGyan aims atproviding the right information, tractor reviews and information from the policy and planning perspective to improve the lives of crores of farmers. Below is an excerpt of the CEO Insights’ exclusive interview with Shivankur.

Tell us about your educational and professional background?
An IT Engineer by qualification, I graduated from the prestigious SGSITS, Indore, in 2013. I appeared for the GRE and had an opportunity to go to the US for MS. However, aligning with my goal of working towards the Farming sector, I decided to take the plunge right away. And I have been able to do justice with my decision.

Passionate about helping India mechanize, how do you define your role in the organization?
I don multiple hats from time to time & as the CEO,there is no space to becomplacent. I manage a big team of enthusiastic youth who share the vision of making agriculture a more lucrative space. I also lead teams that take charge of Brand collaboration, Business Finance, Tech/Product development Digital marketing & overall aspects of Business Development.

How would you define TractorGyan as an organization and its position in the market?
Since its inception, TractorGyan has developed as an emotion in the farming sector. We are known for providing accurate information about farms equipment products and services, and the tractor reviews we provide are best-in-class and match with that of the car industry. Above all at TractorGyan, we value
our innovation, integrity and try to be empathetic towards the complication of the farmers.Thus, making the team at Tractor Gyan stay grounded at the core of what we do.

What is the unique proposition that your organization offers to its clients?
At TractorGyan, our unique propositions include innovation, ingenuity, customized plug and play out comes rather than a strait jacketed one size fits all approach.

We add value to the lives of the farmers who work hard towards Nation building.


How has the journey been so far at Tractor Gyan? What strategy has the company observed to maintain its position in the market?
Since the beginning of TractorGyan, the journey has been that of ups and downs. We faced and overcame many challenges along the way. It was a challenge to bring out actionable insights for the longest time as the data in the agriculture sector was scattered. We have succeeded in solving this issue to a great extent.

Our strategy is simple: Innovate. We add value to the lives of the farmers who work hard towards Nation building. We also offer a value proposition to the brands that the whole tractor/farm mechanization space is upgraded and grow leaps and bounds. Thus, making us stand out in the industry.

Your company is a leading platform for Farm Equipment Information. Hence, as a CEO, how do you involve your professional experience to maintain that reputation?
Coming from a family of tractor dealers, I always had hands on expertise with the nitty gritty of the sector. Having experience in building brands right from my college days, I had the know how of team management, identifying the pain points, and working towards building sustainable solutions in a time bound manner. Thus, this experience helped me in my journey with TractorGyan.

What milestones have bestowed you with utmost satisfaction both
personally and professionally?
Speaking of professional milestones, we have achieved quite a lot.
(i)We reached the lives of 21crore+ farmers in 2021 through our website and various social media platforms.
(ii)Recognizing the revolution we brought about in the tractor videos ecosystem, the brands are using our services to create videos for their own platforms.
(iii)Testimony to the above fact is that we are the first in the tractor info aggregator space to receive Silver Play button from YouTube.
(iv)Getting featured on prominent startup platforms has given visibility to the brand. The leaders in our industry have realized the impact TractorGyan has made.

Talking about personal satisfaction by milestones achieved in the business, I always take it bottomup: one farmer touched at a time approach. I get feedback on how farmers were saved from the debt trap with the information we provided, and that has been the driving force for me.

Being the CEO, what are your plans for TractorGyan? How are you gearing up for the same?
As iterated above, we were able to reach more than 21 crore farmers across our digital platforms in 2021. With the development in our inhouse systems and processes coupled with internet penetration in the hinterlands, we are planning to expand to new verticals and continue delivering state of the art services.

In the light of your vast experience, what advice would you like to give to budding industry professionals?
I am still in a learning process. And I wish to carry the same in my professional journey. If I were to comment on learnings based on my experience with TractorGyan, it would be to take risks, and to never
underestimate the potential of the Indian market the whole world looks up to it. There are going to be challenges. But one will always learn and grow a lot personally and professionally.
