The Indian FinTech industry has grown rapidly in the last few years and is fast transforming the whole financial sector. In 2025, the industry is expected to be worth between $150 billion and $160 billion, according to research undertaken by a well-known firm. Nearly 67 percent of the country's 2,100 FinTech businesses were founded in the last five years. India's payments infrastructure has seen significant development, becoming one of the world's FinTech hubs with the quickest growth. In response to the potential prospects offered in the Indian FinTech sector, Shyam Ramachandran established Lemonpeak Marketing Services in 2011,along with Zachary Martinez.

Lemonpeak Marketing Services is a software firm that specializes in online payment solutions, digital marketing, mobile applications and enterprise application development, and web design. Lemonpeak constantly strives to surpass consumers' expectations by creating highquality solutions. The organization creates a stimulating work atmosphere where all ideas are encouraged, the brainstorming process is constant, and employees are encouraged to speak out.

Furthermore, Shyam thinks that a company's greatest asset is its employees and that providing them with the finest tools and resources is critical to their well-being and the business's success. In an exclusive interview with CEO Insights, Shyam described his entrepreneurial journey and the obstacles he conquered to prosper.

What inspired you to establish Lemonpeak, and what drives you today as an entrepreneur?
I have over two decades of experience in the BPO and technology development sector and have worked for several Indian and international organizations. After spending considerable time working abroad, I chose to return to India and focus on uncharted territory in the technology and BPO industry. Therefore, this is how the whole Lemonpeak adventure began. I am fortunate to have fantastic mentors in the past who have groomed me for this role. In addition, I have excellent partners who have supported me or rather stayed with me through thick and thin to ensure that the company's market position is maintained.

Could you talk about the learnings and experiences you acquired from IIM Calcutta and how you apply them in your current role?
When I contemplated starting something in the Indian FinTech industry, I found it challenging since I was unfamiliar with the Indian market, its regulatory frameworks, and the banking sector. Hence forth, I decided to attend IIM Calcutta in the first place. And learning at IIM is a rewarding experience since we are trained by experienced professors and industry leaders. Basically, the IIM course helped me figure out what to do in India and how to begin working on my aim of developing a

gateway to the Indian market. It was more of an eye-opener for me to learn so much about both the Indian economy and the banking sector in such a short period. Statistics, which I never thought I'd learn at the age of 40, was particularly fascinating in the course. As a result, I thoroughly liked my time at IIM Calcutta and learned a great deal about the business world.

Reflect on some of the major challenges you have experienced in your journey so far? How did you overcome them, and what did you learn from them?
We have experienced various difficulties, but one of the most prevalent is finding the right team members to work with. Our area is continually evolving, and this is a key problem we will continue to face for the foreseeable future. When it comes to marketing or technology, we must come up with fresh strategies every day to stay up with quickly shifting market dynamics. Hence forth, we must always adapt and improve.

Share some of the major pain points that your clients approach you with. How do you address them?
As a multi industry organization, we provide a sense of security for our consumers who come to us with their issues. There are several pain points in the sales process when customers don't get the correct instructions or help, and when this occurs at a crucial time, it may have a significant impact on their company. It's also common for customers who want to invest in technology to be concerned about how much money they spend on the products, services, and solutions they currently have. They're looking for cost-effective prepositions, and the applications designed to address this problem do so in various ways.

Lastly, clients want to enhance their internal process structure but cannot do so due to a lack of technology, leadership, or skilled management to address the system's fundamental concerns. We tailor our services to meet their specific needs. Rather than focusing on ourselves, we focus on providing value to our consumers. To assure customer satisfaction and a high output level, our support solutions have been tested several times, and we maintain stringent quality standards for all our services. We are proud of our reputation in the IT assistance industry that we have built up over the years.

In your professional journey so far, which are the milestones that have bestowed you with utmost satisfaction- both personally and professionally?
Entrepreneurship is not a simple endeavor. Despite how it may seem from the outside, many entrepreneurs have to deal with various internal conflicts. We've also had similar situations in the last ten years, such as when the whole city of Chennai was flooded in 2015, and we were completely out of business. But I never gave up, and as a result, our company is thriving in today's marketplace. I've dealt with so many difficult circumstances over the years that I'm now confident in my ability to manage any issue, whether it's financial, business, or something else differently. Lemonpeak Marketing Services' current market dominance is a significant accomplishment in my career.

What are your future plans in terms of technology intervention, investments, and growth?
This year, our BPO company is expected to grow by 25 percent while maintaining profitability. Our software development services sector will increase by at least 30 percent over the next year. We're also investing money into data analytics, AI, and machine learning to create marketing software that helps our salespeople sell our goods more effectively. Furthermore, this year, our primary goal is to put our Intelligent Marketing Engine into the hands of other B2C sales businesses.

Shyam completed his BE degree in Electronics and Communication at Government College of Engineering Aurangabad, and later in 2019, he completed Advanced Program in FinTech and Financial Blockchain from IIM Calcutta. In addition to establishing Lemonpeak Marketing Services, Shyam also founded Trekarna Adventure Resorts and is a Managing Partner at PayArc.
