    E-Commerce in India is at an initial stage when compared to that of global e-Commerce market. But the sector is growing at a very fast pace. It is the fastest growing and most exciting channel for commercial transactions. Seeing the highly favourable conditions and unexplored market in India, numerous global companies are eyeing on the Indian e-Commerce market. Rising income levels and growing awareness opens opportunity for many international brands in India. There is a growing appetite for international brands and better-quality foreign products amongst young Indians. Several categories including lifestyle products, consumer electronics, clothing, footwear, jewelry & accessories, health & beauty, household goods, art & collectibles, event tickets and online music are doing well for online sales. Especially sectors like event tickets, online music, clothing and consumer electronics are boosting the e-Commerce market in India.

    Electronics is the biggest online retail sales category with a share of 48 percent, followed closely by apparel at 29 percent. The evolution of digital payments, hyperlocal logistics, analytics driven customer engagement and digital advertisements are the biggest reasons for the growth of e-Commerce sector in India. Amazon.in is leading the Indian e-Commerce market, with e-Commerce net sales of US $1,082 million in 2020 generated in India, followed by Ajio.com with US$ 983 million. Third place is taken by Bigbasket.com with revenues of US $929 million.
