Top 10 Anna University Alumni Leaders - 2022
Writing about alumni's and the college Anna University Chennai, one have to begin with APJ. Abdul Kalam, our honourable former president and scientist. Kalam did his graduation in aeronautical engineering from Madras Institute of Technology, a constituent of Anna University Chennai. Later on the `Missile man' worked as teacher in the same institute. Anna University Chennai was established on 4th September 1978 as a unitary type of university. University offers higher education in Engineering, Technology and allied Science subjects.
In the country-wide NIRF Ranking 2022, Anna University ranks 22 in the overall category and 20 in the universities category. The university has jumped up 3 positions in the Overall Category while witnessing a drop of 4 positions in the University category as compared to the NIRF 2021 data. At the international level, Anna University has been ranked under the 51-100 band by the QS World Ranking 2023 for Engineering. The university has also secured 10th rank for the Engineering category in Outlook-ICARE Rankings 2022 released on July 8, 2022.
Anna University has also been recognized by the University Grants Commission as a "University with Potential Excellence (UPE)" for having developed research and development activities in Biomedical Engineering and Applications. Further, the University Library has been ranked 7th in e-resources usage, all over India, and stands at the 1st rank in Tamil Nadu.
