Top 10 CEOs in Kuwait - 2021
Indian expatriates play a major role in the economic growth of Kuwait. Indians are the largest expat community in Kuwait and sees India as a source of highly qualified professionals and technical personals. As per the statistics of February 2019, the number of Indian nationals legally residing at Kuwait has crossed the 10 lakh. The Indian community in Kuwait continues to grow at 5-6 percent per annum. Recently, there has been a huge increase in the number of highly qualified expatriate Indians in hi-tech areas, especially in the software and financial sector in Kuwait. A large number of nurses in Kuwait are also from India. Further, there are many Indians working in Kuwaiti government jobs as Engineers, Scientists and more. Also, there are 3.27 lakh Indians working as domestic workers in Kuwait.
As a part of its long-term development goals in New Kuwait 2035, the country is increasing privatization, improving business environment and attracting FDI. This will be followed by additional development plans with the aim of first transforming Kuwait into a knowledge economy and then into a smart economy. With the continuous falling of oil prices, the country is looking for other ways for economic recovery. Entrepreneurship is proposed to be one of the main sources for job creations that is expected to help meeting high demands for youth employment in Kuwait in the near future.
