Human Resources (HR) is the division of a business that is charged with finding, screening, recruiting, and training job applicants, as well as administering employee-benefit programs. HR fills the greater demand for talented employees according to the fast changing business environment in the 21st century. The term was first coined by an American institutional economist, John R. Commons in his book ‘The Distribution of Wealth’, published in 1893. At that time, HR departments were not developed.
