Martin Luther King once said, "Life's most persistent and urgent question is, what are you doing for others?" With a similar question in mind and a motive to do good things for others, R.R. Kalyan, Executive Director, CDOT started his entrepreneurial journey in the rural development sector. During his years at Xavier Institute of Social Service, when he was studying Rural Management, he developed the desire to do something meaningful for the people of rural society. Belonging to a middle class family and growing up in a village, Kalyan was well aware of the atrocities of underprivileged people. Hence, putting the best use of his education, he established CDOT. This organization was built with a mission to work for the unreached com-munity through meaningful sustainable intervention.

Bordering Nepal, Bihar is a state in East India, divided by the River Ganges, which floods its fertile plains. Various religions like Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, Sikhism & Islam find its roots in the state, it being considered one of the most sacred place of all. The state is also famous as a preferred travel & tourist destination in India, and many tourists travel to Bihar to visit their pilgrimage. Mahabodhi Temple, a Buddhist shrine and UNESCO World Heritage Site, is also situated in Bodh Gaya.
On the bright side, the economy of Bihar is one of the fastest-growing in India. With a significant share of agricultural and industrial sectors, the state is largely service-based. The GDP of the state was Rs.7,45,310 crores ($94 billion) at the current market price (2022-23). 38.66 percent of GSDP (2022-23 est.). Well, the state has a recognizable contribution in agricultural production in India, as around 80 percent of the population of the state (much higher than the national average) are employed in agricultural production. Some of the fast-growing industries in the state include, Food processing, dairy, sugar, manufacturing, and healthcare.
However, the land's rich culture also speaks of other talents of people there skilled in art & handicrafts, such as Madhubani paintings, Lacquer Art from Muzaffarpur, Bamboo Works, and Metal Craft. On a elaborate note, Pottery, wooden articles, metal wares, stone wares, jewelry, lacquer works, kashida, sikki and moonj wares, wooden and clay toys, zari, artistic textile fabrics and printing on cloth are some of the contemporary crafts of Bihar, and for which it is exclusively famous in Indian as well as international markets. Well, given its hugely grown agricultural and industrial sectors, coupled with artistic crafts and talent work, there are many well-established businesses in the state led by skilled leaders in the respective industry domains, and they are worthy of recognition around for their extensive contribution to the business world.
