Top 10 Leaders from Construction & Infrastructure Startups - 2022
The construction and infrastructure sectors of India are the key drivers of the country's overall growth today. The frantic developments happening across diverse sectors in India, including like Social Infrastructure, Transportation Infrastructure, Extraction Infrastructure, Manufacturing Infrastructure have put the country on a rolling wheel for infrastructure establishments. The Infrastructure in India is estimated to grow at a CAGR of approximately 7 percent during the forecast period 2022-27. The Government of India has projected very large investment requirements to providing for infrastructure under specified norms and is also supporting the growth process.
Studies state that the Government plans to invest about Rs.102 lakh crore on infrastructure projects by 2024-25 which follows 24 percent on renewable energy, 19 percent on roads & highways, 16 percent on urban infrastructure, and 13 percent on railways. According to the five-year-long National Infrastructure Pipeline (NIP), about Rs.19.5 lakh crore had been budgeted during 2021. The infrastructures across Energy, Roads, Urban, and Railway sectors will have profound growth over the period.
Additionally, as the Construction industry in India is also diversified, comprising both the Real estate (residential, office, retail, hotels and leisure parks, among others) as well as the Urban development (Water supply, Sanitation, Urban transport, Schools, and Healthcare) segment, it is expected to reach $1.4 trillion by 2025. Also, by 2030, more than 40 percent of the population is expected to live in urban India (33 percent today), creating a demand for 25 million additional mid-end and affordable units. The trends emerging in the industry are the need for affordable housing, adoption of green building solutions, and technology/AI shaping the industry. As the Construction & Infrastructure is growing prolifically, there are many startup company leaders too surging amidst the industry offering their efficient services.
