Cyprus, officially the Republic of Cyprus, is an island country in the eastern Mediterranean Sea. As classified by the World bank, the economy of Cyprus is a high-income economy. Clearly, where Cyprus has an open, free market, service based economy with some light manufacturing, the main industries in the region are tourism, energy, finance & banking, followed by food and beverage processing, cement and gypsum, ship repair and refurbishment, textiles, light chemicals, metal products, wood, paper, stone and clay products.
In terms of the regions agricultural richness, the major crops of the Greek Cypriot sector include grapes, deciduous fruits, potatoes, cereal grains, vegetables, olives, and carobs. Well, Cyprus mostly exports citrus fruits, cement, potatoes, clothing and pharmaceuticals. However, Cyprus' largest, and most important, trading partner is the European Union, which accounts for 50 percent of the entire Cypriot trade flows, added on by the Middle East, destination for 20 percent of exports from Cyprus.
Also, as cyprus provides a conducive environment for group holding and finance companies, offering a tax free flow of dividends from Cyprus to non tax resident entities under certain conditions, there are many business and industries established in the region and growing profoundly.
