Recognized as the commercial constructions, residential constructions, industrial constructions, infrastructure, transportation constructions, energy and utility constructions, the Indian construction and infrastructure industry is projected to become the third-largest construction market by 2021 as per the Indian Brand Equity Foundation (IBEF). In the 2021 Union Budget, the Government recognized the massive push needed in the construction and infrastructure sector and allocated INR 233,083 crore (~US$ 32.02 billion) for enhancement of the transport infrastructure. The Government also increased the 'National Infrastructure Pipeline (NIP)' to 7400 projects. With the announced budget, the infrastructure sector, which is important for augmenting the country's overall development, has prime focus from the Government for development of policies to ensure a large number of word class infrastructure development in India in power, bridges, dams, roads, and infrastructure development in the urban parts.

According to the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), construction development sector, which includes townships, housing, built-up infrastructure, and construction development projects and activities (infrastructure), was at US$ 25.93 billion and US$ 23.99 billion between April 2000 and December 2020. In 2021, the construction industry in India is poised to grow 13 percent. Amid Covid pandemic, the progress of the construction works continues with the leadership with affirmative growth in the previous few months (16.8 percent year-on-year increase of Infrastructure result in India in May 2021). Domestic and international players are now eyeing on the increased impetus for the development of infrastructure in the country.
