Top 10 Leaders in Diagnostics - 2023
Diagnosis: Not the End, but the Beginning of Practice
The healthcare and diagnostics sector of India is growing exponentially with the advent of newer technologies and hype around quality-care among patients. Rather being treatment-driven today it seeks for steps to prevent. Diagnosis can be spelled as the process of identifying a disease, condition, or injury from its signs and symptoms. In a broader view, diagnosis is the endpoint of a complex process centered on a patient, collaborating with both the patient and other sources of clinical information to reason backward as to the potential health issue causing the patient's current condition. A health history, physical exam, and tests, such as blood tests, imaging tests, and biopsies all together can further contribute towards an accurate diagnosis. Also, Communication among health care professionals, the patient, and the patient's family members is critical in order to gather information, integration, and interpretation.
"There is little you can do to stop a tornado, a hurricane, or a cancer diagnosis from changing your life in an instant"
Importance: The importance of diagnosis in patient care is dependent on its accuracy, reliability, and timeliness, which all together make key contributions to the health outcome. Diagnosis in healthcare is paramount as the protocol for patient treatment entirely depends on this step. Even, health research and policy draw on this area for their validity. For instance, payment policy, allocation of financial and other resources, and research focus are determined largely by diagnoses.
Agile Leaders in Diagnosis: The diagnostics around the globe has proved their dexterity in the last two years in the fight against COVID while standing at the fore-front of every challenge. Being one of the primary line of defense in the modern healthcare ecosystem, diagnostics drive seventy percent of all critical medical evaluations and therapeutics. The effectiveness of these modern diagnostics is evident in the average life expectancy (ALE) of an Indian, which has increased from around 52.5 years (1980) to 69.3 years (2020). This success as a whole attributes to nothing but the agile diagnostics, modern cuttingedge medical treatments, and the infusion of strong academic and unmatched talent from both digital and medical background which has vitally increased the capabilities and has stimulated the growth of this sector.
