Driven by the digital and technology, education ecosystem has had a pragmatic shift along the years, now. In India too, with the emergence of blended learning, online classes, and experiential learning the education services sector has been growing at an advancing rate, and large private individuals collaborating with the government are endeavoring to developing this sector with greater facilities. India has the world’s largest population in the age bracket of 5-24 years of about 500 million people, which provides a great growth opportunity for the education sector to expand prolifically. According to IBEF reports, the education sector in India was estimated to be worth $117 billion in 2020 and is expected to reach $225 billion by 2025. Having over 250 million school-going students, more than any other country, India is witnessing a positive growth in the education services sector in India.
In India, where the number of colleges had reached 42,343, as of June 24, 2022, the number of universities in India stood at 1,047. In 2021-22, there were 8,997 total AICTE approved institutes in India. Out of these 8,997 institutes, there were 3,627 undergraduate, 4,790 postgraduate and 3,994 diploma institutes. There are adeptly skilled education leaders leading the education sector in India leveraging their dexterity in education infrastructure, teaching or training curriculum. As education is not only limited to career building or core learning today, but is diversified into skill enhancement and further extension of knowledge earning as well, there are astute education institutes and academia leaders reigning the Indian education sector and working towards its enhancement.
