Top 10 Indian Leaders in Hong Kong - 2021
Hong Kong is on the top of the list when it comes to innovation and new business trends. Hong Kong is a very dynamic city and an increasingly important business hub. It is also a very fast expanding economic centre in Asia. The free and open market of Hong Kong is attracting investors and business. Hong Kong welcomes foreign investment, neither offering special incentives nor imposing disincentives for foreign investors. There is no distinction in law or practice between foreign investors controlled companies and those controlled by local interests. There is no restrictions in ownership and operation of business in Hong Kong. Company directors need not to be citizens or residents in Hong Kong. Also, it does not levy any customs tariff and has limited excise duties.
In 2020, India was Hong Kong's 9th largest trading partner. Reciprocally, Hong Kong was India's 5th largest trading partner in 2020. Immigration has been one of the major sources of Hong Kong's population growth in the past century. As of the 2016 by census, there were at least 44,744 persons of South Asian descent, consisting of immigrants from India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka, as well as Southeast Asians like the Filipinos, Indonesians and many others in Hong Kong. The Consulate General of India in Hong Kong have estimated the number of Indians in the region to be around 38,000, and approximately 32,000 hold Indian passports. Sindhis, Gujaratis and Punjabis form the largest component of this population.
