The story of Blue Dart Express is also the story of the ripples of globalization in India and the country thriving in its export business. Rewinding to almost four decades, three young entrepreneurs Clyde Cooper, Tushar Jani, and Khushroo Dubash set up Blue Dart in a 200 square feet space under a staircase. This humble beginning stemmed from a much broader vision delivering small packages and samples to support India's burgeoning exports. The young entrepreneur-trio soon forged ties with Gelco Express International UK and introduced India's first international air package express service. Today, Blue Dart is South Asia's leading integrated air express carrier and premium logistics services provider with two established subsidiaries in the aviation industryBlue Dart Aviation and Concorde Air Logistics. A household name in India, Blue Dart, today has the most extensive domestic network covering over 35000+ locations in India. In 2002, the company made an alliance with DHL Express, and a couple of years later, DHL invested €120 million in Blue Dart to become the major shareholder in the company.

Logistics industry includes all activities of the supply chain such as transportation, customer service, inventory management, flow of information and order processing. Other activities of the supply chain are warehousing, material handling, purchasing, packaging, information dissemination and maintenance, among others. The market in terms of volume was valued at 54.69 billion tons in 2015 and is expected to reach 92.10 billion tons by 2024 growing at a CAGR of six percent from 2016 to 2024.
