According to India Brand Equity Foundation, the Ministry of Steel aims to increase the production capacity to 300 MT by 2030-31, from 134.6 MT in 2017-2018, opening up new opportunities in the sector. The Mines secretary of the Indian Government, recognized the future opportunities of the further reformation in the mining sector and is on the way to amending the MMDR Act (Mines and Mineral Development and Regulation Act) for further opportunities in deep-seated minerals like gold, diamond, platinum, copper, zinc, and lead, and expects increased participation of the private sector. Already, the Government had announced mining as an ‘essential service’ and allowed the production and transportation of minerals all over the country during the country-wide lockdown. Amidst the crisis caused by the pandemic, mining companies exhibited excellent resilience and continued mining operations to the farthest possible boundary. For continuity of development, the mining law got amended by the government for facilitating coal production, thereby reducing imports. The laws amended presented effective transitions of expiring non-captive operating mines to new bidders and considered validity of statutory clearances for a timeline of two years.

While metals in alloy steel are the basic choice for structural building development because of the strength and flexibility and copper is applied in a wide array of architectural parts which is creating the aesthetic of the architecture (for copper’s extreme durability and appearance properties), metals are invincible in industrial development. From an earlier existence of mankind to new-age digitalization, metals are always aligned to the development. Being good conductors, metals are contributing to the electronics’ circuitry. In the manufacture of aircraft, aluminum has also been one of the most commonly used metals for its properties like high resistance and lightweight and minimum fuel consumption.
