| | JUNE 20239As part of a bureaucratic reorganisation carried out by the Centre, senior IAS officers Amit Agrawal and Subodh Kumar Singh have been appointed CEO of the Unique Identification Authority of India and director general of the National Testing Agency, respectively. Agrawal (1993 batch) and Singh (1997 batch) are both members of the Chhattisgarh cadre of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS).Agrawal has been appointed as the chief executive officer (CEO) of the Unique Identification Authority with the rank and pay of additional secretary to the Government of India, according to a Personnel Ministry order. Agrawal is an extra secretary in the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology.According to the announcement, Singh, who is currently additional secretary in the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution's Department of Food and Public Distribution, has been named director general of the NTA.The order released late Sunday night states that Richa Sharma, an additional secretary in the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, has been transferred to the Department of Food and Public Distribution to take Singh's place.The Central Information Commission has chosen Rashmi Chowdhary, additional secretary in the Department of Personnel and Training, as secretary.Shyam Jagannathan, who is currently serving as the Santa Cruz Exclusive Export Processing Zone's development commissioner in the Special Economic Zone in Mumbai, will now serve as the ministry's director general of shipping and waterways.
