| | DECEMBER 20238The inauguration of AMD's most extensive worldwide design center in India, set to accommodate around 3,000 engineers in the future, reflects the trust that multinational corporations place in India, as stated by Union IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw. Situated in Bengaluru and spanning 500,000 square feet, the campus is primarily dedicated to innovating and crafting semiconductor technology, encompassing areas such as 3D stacking, artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), and beyond.Under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India's semiconductor program places significant emphasis on nurturing the design and talent ecosystem within the semiconductor industry", he noted. "AMD's establishment of its largest design center in Bengaluru is evidence of the confidence that global corporations have in India", the minister affirmed. The campus constitutes a portion of the company's $400 million investment in India over the forthcoming five years, as declared at the 'Semicon India 2023' event.The campus is poised to function as a hub of expertise for pioneering product development, spanning high-performance CPUs for data centers and PCs, GPUs for data centers and gaming, as well as adaptive SoCs and FPGAs intended for embedded devices. "This fresh design center will drive forward technology and product innovation throughout AMD's portfolio, fostering the next wave of high-performance, adaptable, and AI-driven computing solutions for our global clientele", remarked Mark Papermaster, Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer at AMD.This facility boasts state-of-the-art R&D laboratories sprawling across 60,000 square feet, accompanied by an expansive demonstration center allowing visitors to experience AMD's array of products and solutions. "The inception of the India design center began with a small group of employees back in 2004. Presently, 2525 percent of AMD's worldwide workforce is stationed in India, actively contributing to the development of AMD's leading products for data centers, gaming, PC, and embedded systems", stated Jaya Jagadish, India Country Head at AMD.
