| | MAY 20244Twelve students from Kumaraguru College of Technology (KCT), Coimbatore, are all set to travel to Monaco to compete in the prestigious Monaco Energy Boat Challenge 2024, representing India. This unique motor boating event aims to advocate the advancement of sustainable energy sources and serves as a catalyst for innovation among the engineers of tomorrow. The KCT team, known as Sea Sakthi, is the sole representative from India. They are ready to mark their third consecutive appearance at the MEBC. The KCT team won the "Communication prize" in the last two years, making this year's event all the more exciting. The event is happening in the first week of July. The KCT team comprises students from diverse engineering disciplines and are set to join 20 other international teams in the energy class race. The competition challenges participants to engineer the boat's cockpit and devise a propulsion system that is not only efficient and durable but also powered by renewable energy. However, Sea Sakthi's vessel, Yali 3.0--a fully autonomous boat with a bespoke propulsion system that boasts twin engines, each with a 6.5 KW capacity-- is a strong testament to their innovative and creative mindset. The KCT squad has independently developed a 10 KW Lithium Ferro Phosphate Battery Pack, in addition to building a cockpit using sustainable materials such as pineapple fiber and recycled plastic fiber, underscoring their commitment to environmental stewardship. While Yali 3.0's design and features reflect the team's dedication to advancing sustainable energy systems, it also signifies KCT's dexterity in creating skilled engineers. We dedicate this special yearly issue to the prestigious alumni of KCT.Sujith VasudevanManaging Editoreditor@ceoinsightsindia.comTaking Skills Beyond Borders EditorialVol 05 · Issue 21 - 5 ·MAY, 2024 Publisher Alok ChaturvediSenior Designer Girisha M Antony Arnold.
