| | AUGUST 20238Tesla has appointed Vaibhav Taneja of Indian origin as its Chief Financial Officer. Vaibhav Taneja, who is currently the Chief Accounting Officer, will take on additional responsibilities as CFO. He will take over for Zachary Kirkhorn, who is leaving Tesla after 13 years.The reason for the change was not disclosed by the Elon Musk-led company, but Kirkhorn is expected to remain in his position until the end of the year to ensure a smooth transition. "Being a part of this company is a special experience, and I'm extremely proud of the work we've done together since I joined over 13 years ago," Kirkhorn wrote on LinkedIn.Vaibhav Taneja (45), a commerce graduate from the University of Delhi, joined Tesla's team after the company acquired SolarCity in 2016. In addition to his primary responsibility as chief accounting officer, he was named "Master of Coin" within the organisation, according to the company.Vaibhav Taneja was also appointed as the director of Tesla India Motors and Energy in January 2021. According to a Moneycontrol report, Vaibhav has over 20 years of accounting experience. He has worked for a number of multinational corporations in the fields of technology, finance, retail, and telecommunications. Amazon India announced on Aug 7 that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII) and the Cottage and Rural Industries Department of the Government of Gujarat to support the state's e-commerce exports. Amazon will prioritise bringing weavers, artisans, and other micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) from Gujarat to Amazon Global Selling, the e-commerce exports programme."One of our key priorities has been to boost exports from Gujarat," said Gujarat Minister for MSMEs, Cottage, Khadi, and Rural Industries Balwantsinh Rajput, "and through this partnership with Amazon, we aim to empower lakhs of MSMEs in Gujarat to embrace e-commerce exports."Through its Hastkala Setu Yojana programme, the Cottage and Rural Industries Department will identify approximately 1,000 artisans in handloom and handicrafts.Amazon and EDII will hold hybrid (in-person and online) training sessions and workshops on B2C e-commerce exports, educating artisans on how to register and list their products for sale on more than 18 Amazon Global Marketplaces, as well as tools to make exports easier.Bhupen Wakankar, Director of Global Trade at Amazon India, said the collaboration is a critical step towards assisting lakhs of MSMEs, weavers, and artisans across the state in expanding their businesses globally through e-commerce exports.
