L'Oreal, a French personal care company, announced its entry into the Indian dermocosmetic market on Sept 21, introducing L'Oreal Dermatological Beauty (LDB) in the country. According to a company statement, LDB, a new division for the Indian market, will bring products to dermatologists, patients, and consumers. CeraVe, a leading dermatologist-recommended skincare brand in the US market, will kick off its journey in India.According to Aseem Kaushik, Managing Director of L'Oreal India, the entry is significant for India, where the dermatologist-to-consumer ratio is one of the lowest in the world (0.7 dermatologists for every 1,000 people)."We believe that expert dermatological care and effective skincare solutions should be available to everyone."
