TheThe Chief Minister Solar Self-Employment Scheme (MSSY) in Uttarakhand, initiated by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, has witnessed significant success in the past 11 months. The scheme, aimed at making Uttarakhand an energy state, has garnered interest from the youth across the state, spanning from hilly areas to plains.

Following the revision of MSSY on March 13, 2023, 839 applications have been submitted through the Mukhyamantri Swarozgar Yojana portal for establishing solar plants ranging from 20 to 200-kilowatt capacity. Notably, Letters of Intent (LOI) have been issued for 297 applications.

Under the modified MSSY scheme, 297 LOAs have been issued, representing a cumulative capacity of 44.94 MWp. This is a significant advancement compared to the previous MSSY scheme, which had an installed capacity of 3.43 MW and an estimated investment of Rs 13.6 crore. The new scheme is expected to generate employment opportunities and create investment opportunities worth approximately Rs 224 crore.

The installation of 44.94 MW under the Chief Minister Solar Self-Employment Scheme is anticipated to further boost employment prospects in the state. Additionally, it aligns with national goals of achieving Net Zero targets through increased green energy production. The residents of Uttarakhand are actively participating in the Modified MSSY scheme, and the allotment process is ongoing until the 246 MWp cumulative target is achieved.

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Dhami, Uttarakhand is making strides in the direction of green energy production and fostering a green economy. This initiative not only contributes to sustainable energy practices but also aligns with broader environmental and economic goals.
