Atlassian's Approach to Improve the State of Your Team
To address the challenges highlighted in the ‘State of Teams 2025’ survey, Atlassian recommends a three-pronged approach that aligns to its System of Work philosophy:
-
Align work to goals: Create focus by defining 3-5 prioritized team goals with clear success metrics, reviewed quarterly. Document goals centrally for AI accessibility and provide monthly progress reports. Align work by nesting projects under relevant goals and regularly checking team focus.
-
Plan & track work together: Start projects with a shared understanding: a clear brief outlining the problem, impact, and stakeholders. Define tasks and dependencies by assigning owners, defining "done," and mapping dependencies. Learn and adapt through bi-weekly progress reviews and regular reflection rituals.
-
Unleash collective knowledge: Prioritize asynchronous information sharing by replacing meetings with high-quality, scannable updates. Empower teams to work with AI to surface insights and automate tasks.
