Accenture named business veteran Rajendra Prasad as its chief information and asset engineering officer, a new position that controls all internal technology development and client support for Accenture systems and assets.

Prasad has worked for the Dublin-based firm for 18 years and has over 28 years of business expertise. According to a news statement, he has focused on differentiating Accenture by driving automation and innovation across the IT lifecycle and introducing new solutions and capabilities to clients. He will report to Manish Sharma, the chief operating officer.

"These leadership changes are integral to our strategic growth ambitions as we continue to push the boundaries of innovation and foster deeper collaboration with our partners to deliver even greater value to our clients," said Sharma, chief operating officer. "With Rajendra's appointment, we continue to pioneer both internal technology and asset engineering in order to drive new performance frontiers for Accenture and our clients."

As part of the other top-level changes, Penelope Prett, Accenture's current chief information and data analytics officer, succeeds Gloria Samuels as global lead for Accenture's Workday business group. Samuels will leave Accenture in August following a five-year tenure during which she was crucial in driving the alliance with Workday, according to the statement.
