Adani Airports Partners with Thales to Revolutionize Indian Air Travel
As the largest private airport operator in India, Adani Airport Holdings Limited (AAHL) today announced a strategic partnership with Thales, the global high-tech leader to upgrade airport operations and passenger experience across India. This strategic alliance for smart airport security, biometric passenger journeys, and operational efficiency marks a significant stride in modernizing Indian airports.
Since early 2024, Thales has deployed Fly to Gate, its biometric system, at seven AAHL airports. The touchless and facial recognition-based ID verification system lines with the government's DigiYatra initiative. It reduces passenger processing times up to 30%. It enhances security and makes travel a lot easier for passengers who do not have to deal with physical documents anymore.
According to Thales Vice President and Country Director for India, Ashish Saraf, his collaboration in this project has so much potential as it "Our Fly to Gate biometric solution for DigiYatra and the smart Airport Operation Control Centre (APOC) will enable AAHL to streamline operations and ensure a secure and simplified journey for millions of passengers".
In addition, AAHL extends the partnership to implement an Airport Operation Control Centre at all of its airports. The cloud-based system will standardize operational data centralization by streamlining operations automation, Big Data analytics, and AI improvement in one place to enhance airport operation management, alert for expected resource shortages, and smooth workflow with better decision-making power.
The system is currently operational at seven AAHL airports: Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Guwahati, Jaipur, Lucknow, Mangaluru, and Thiruvananthapuram. This alliance targets the vision of India becoming the world's largest aviation market by 2047.
AAHL will transform the passenger experience and enhance operational efficiency and lead the way on growth in India through Thales' innovative solutions.
