
Adani Green Energy Launches 480.1 MW Power Project in Gujarat

According to reports, Adani Green Energy Limited, through its various wholly-owned stepdown subsidiaries, has operationalized an aggregate 480.1 MW power projects at its mega Khavda renewable energy site in Gujarat.
Following the commissioning of the plants, the total operational renewable generation capacity of the Adani Group Company has risen to 14,217.9 MW, as stated in a filing to the stock exchanges on Saturday.
The new plants would commence power generation from March 30, 2025.
Adani Green Energy Limited is building a 30 GW renewable energy facility on unused land in Khavda, Kutch, Gujarat, covering 538 sq km, making it the largest power plant globally upon completion.
Adani Green Energy Limited is set to invest approximately Rs 1.5 lakh crore for the initiative.
India fulfills a significant part of its energy requirements through coal-based electricity, and renewable energy is regarded as a means to lessen reliance on traditional power sources.
During COP26 in 2021, India collectively made a bold five-part commitment known as the "Panchamrit" pledge. They involved achieving 500 GW of non-fossil electricity capacity, producing half of energy needs from renewables, and cutting emissions by 1 billion tonnes by 2030.

India is also seeking to lower the emissions intensity of its GDP by 45 percent. In the end, India pledges to achieve net-zero emissions by 2070.
